a4xnut
My passenger side door won't open from the inside or the outside. It's like it's locked, but the key won't unlock it and the interior lock button is limp. I pulled the interior handle to see if I might be able to unlock or open it that way, but no luck. Has anyone pulled the interior door panel off with the door closed and the seat installed? With buckets and a console, it makes bringing a passenger along too much of a hassle. jimoshel
Or, take a old hack saw blade. Cut a notch in one end. Bend the tip out just a hair. Works just as good as a Slim jim and and convenient if you don't have access to a Slim Jim.

a4xnut
Tried the slim jim route, too... my daughter-in-law used to work for a AAA outfit and her job was to get into customer's locked cars. She couldn't get it open after an hour of trying her different tricks. I've got plenty of spare doors to rob parts from... once I can get in there. Looks like I'll have to take a shot at getting the door panel off.
Dirteatr717
I had to do this last week, take everything off the door panel and then pry the sides of the panel off and try sliding the panel up and towards the back window once all the plastic snap-ins are out. once you get in there locate the end of the rod from the outside handle to the assembly and see if you can jiggle it while opening the inside handle too. I can get pics if you need ;)
Megadan
Plasma Cutter... :brows: Or you can tell your passengers to get in Dukes of Hazard style.I actually had the same problem on my passenger side a few weeks ago. I third the "You can remove the door panel with the door shut" thing, because I had to. Mine ended up being a little plastic clip that broke. I managed to get the door popped and got a "new" clip from the junkyard for the cost of entrance.. they didn't even think it was worth charging me for it lol. a4xnut
I've got plenty of spare doors to rob parts from. I'm pretty sure it's a failed plastic clip... I just wanted to know how feasable it is to take the door panel off. Looks like I'll have to go through that drill when I can find some time to devote to the truck. I'm beginning to think I might have to take a day of vacation from work to do that. After 12 hours of work/commute - and 7-day workweeks, I'm usually out of energy when I get home from work. Then my daily driver let me know on the way home yesterday, it's time for it to get a brake job. Just did one last week on the wife's car. Sometimes it just feels like you can't get ahead... :wall:
64 Cheyenne
Sometimes my doors won't unlock from the out or inside. The Inside lock lever feels like it is obstructed, when I use the key from the outside (If the linkage feels still attached) work the key to lock - unlock - lock - unlock, if I keep doing this I can "feel" the lock when it releases, usually happens when it's cold, seen a post about this in the past, general consensus was that the door latch mechanism was wore out, recommended replacement. juan
I had this issue a few weeks back - Lucky for me the door opened after endless attempts, when it did I took the door panel off and sprayed lubricant on the lock mechanism - it now open and closes very easy - good luck.
