Spectormj Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 I feel its time to start my build thread and lay some ideas out as I work on the build I drive an 86 mj with the underpowered 2.8 auto trans Some of my plans right now are new paint to take it from silver to a midnight black with red accents such as my rokshots in the grill I am going to have my mechanic build me custom axles and help me with the motor/trans swap ride height as it sits right now is fairly stock with 30s under it My plan is to go to 4.5 all the way around might go abit higher just because of the SOA I'm planing for the rear ill have pics up this weekend of what I'm dealing with so far
ComancheKid45 Posted February 22, 2014 Posted February 22, 2014 Now theres a graphic package i havent seen before. Great looking Truck!
Spectormj Posted February 22, 2014 Author Posted February 22, 2014 Thanks I have no clue what model mj it is cause ive seen the Sport and the others and i keep looking at mine and i ask What is this model Long wheelbased with the bars and a odd graphic
Minuit Posted February 23, 2014 Posted February 23, 2014 The 86 trucks always seem like they have the best paint schemes. I'm looking forward to seeing this rig in person
Spectormj Posted February 23, 2014 Author Posted February 23, 2014 Soon as i can afford to repaint I'm goin midnight black for paint the graphic may get re made in all red
Spectormj Posted February 27, 2014 Author Posted February 27, 2014 Once i get a bit more time and more metal I'm plaing on doing a cage like Jbains Cheif build might get newer seats to replace my bench but thats still in the air
Spectormj Posted March 10, 2014 Author Posted March 10, 2014 Picked up a headliner backing board from Dave92cherokee and now i need to get some 3m spray foam and the cloth I'm going to use to make the camo headliner I want to go duckblind or similar style camo for it
87Warrior Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 Those are some massive logs! Making a table? Oh, nice truck
Spectormj Posted March 14, 2014 Author Posted March 14, 2014 Chair and table I'll have some pics up once I get my headliner done
Spectormj Posted March 28, 2014 Author Posted March 28, 2014 I was able to get those logs into the bed with a kubota tractor
Spectormj Posted March 31, 2014 Author Posted March 31, 2014 deer antler shift cover and a new headliner done slowly but surely Spector comes together
91Pioneer Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 Wow, the antler shifter is the most redneck thing I think I've seen since I saw a Corvette body on a lifted 4x4 chassis.
Spectormj Posted April 11, 2014 Author Posted April 11, 2014 I pride myself in my redneckery Its an eye grabber
Minuit Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 Wow, the antler shifter is the most redneck thing I think I've seen since I saw a Corvette body on a lifted 4x4 chassis. My thoughts exactly. I see a lot of redneck stuff every day and this tops the list for this week.
Spectormj Posted April 11, 2014 Author Posted April 11, 2014 i had an antler floating around so saw and drill means NEW shifter for me
