Mudding question

So, here in Tennessee we have pretty good conditions for mudding and therefore I partake in such activities quite often... My question is, has anyone discovered a good way to clean the under carriage of their comanche when it has become caked in mud. I've tried many things but none too successfully. Just thought I'd see if you guys had come up with anything.

You need:

-Bunch of garden hose

-Tap

-Lawn sprinkler

-Beer

Step by step:

-Connect hose to tap and lawn sprinkler.

-Park truck within range of hose

-Place sprinkler under truck

-Turn on tap

-Drink beer while your truck is being cleaned. Hope you don't live in a water restriction area as you're going to have to wait a while...

you beat me to it, i was going to say that EXACT thing. the back and forth sprinklers work ok but i like the ones that do the tic, tic, tic, tiiiiiiiic thing. stick that at one end of the truck at an angle up and it does good, has more pressure. then move it to the other end once that end is done.

don't do the carwash thing unless its at night, the owners HATE us mud runners that do that.

Eh, they won't stop us though.

I brought a truck of mine to the car wash place here that guarenteed their washes. It was so caked that they had to run it through twice and then they ended up hand washing it.

I knew a couple girls that worked there though, so it wasn't too mean.

let me know about the time and stuff and I'll try. I'd love to go wheeling with a bunch of you guys. It's pretty doubtful that I'll be able to the 27th though since it's tax free weekend in Tennessee the 27th-29th and they won't let me off work, but keep me posted. -Will

u can buy this stuf called mud off at motorcycle shops though iv never tried it but it would take an awful lot to do the job(the cans were alittle small). but what i do use on a regular basis is notouch tire foam or arm-er-al which u can get prity cheap in bulk just hose everything down realy good and let it drip dry and it works great then again my whol undercarige is painted which helps(i don't like rust) and iv seen alot of rusty undercariges here, but it works quite well. iv also used cooking spray (mostly on my dirt bike ) it works realy well . both methods like collecting alot of dust but who realy cares. i do recomend if u do try one of these that u start with a very clean surface .

After my first mudding experience I'm still cleaning mud and sand out of the truck. I will be making a number of changes under the truck to prevent mud caking in certain areas. next if you do this on a regular basis borrow your neighbors pressure washer or invest in one your self or better yet get all your mudding buddies to chip in on the cost its a co-op thing and my mom still goes out every spring and buys dirt to put in flower beds I'm bringing it home every time I go offroading for free and she's pissed about the mess.

On the other hand my dad said sacrafice the WD-40 and spray the truck down everywhere like they do when racing sprint cars this way you can easily remove the mud between heat races. They make some specific products for this as well but he says WD-40 is still the most cost effective plus it will help slow corrosion down.
