Minuit
I wonder what an MJ with a halfway well built 401 would be like. They sure sound good. How much does it weigh?

Automan2164
This is an actual MJ with a 401 in it. A professionally built one at that... Making 517 dyno confirmed HP on pump gas. He said it does a 12.1 in the quarter too, when it hooks up and finally gets traction that is. Rob

If optimized that claimed combo should be running high 10's when it hooks up. That ET indicates closer to 390-400 hp. Still not bad but just a reminder that "confirmed" may not mean "real." carnuck
It's light enough that a beefed up 999 or 727 would work.
Kerry
Sure the 12.1 wasn't the time spent masking the engine compartment before painting? Only kidding, very nice looking truck.

Incommando
A stock 727 can handle 530hp/560tq with no issues..... Pulled one out of a junk yard, cleaned it up, put in a manual valve body & new converter, and it is working fine 11 years later. NHRA rules say a roll cage is needed if running 11.49 with a hard top and 13.49 in a convertible. I don't see a roll cage so maybe running 12's for that reason. Some tracks will flag your car if you run faster than your safety equipment allows.
