TheRangerSteve
Has anyone on the board here done the swap? I'm looking into doing it shortly and a search to find some information came up dry. What can you guys tell me if you've done it. When I grab the springs what else should I make sure to get? Will my shocks still work or should I get extended ones? Thanks guys. dscowell
Gives you 1-1.75" your shocks should be fine. I have the springs in the garage but haven't gotten around to doing it. As far as I understand just take the old ones out and put the new ones in as strait forward as it gets.
Lurch
I'm planning to throw some ZJ coils on next weekend, I'll report back when it's finished.
TheRangerSteve
Did you get the Iso's too? or are you going to use the MJ ones?
mvusse
Rear ZJ springs will lower an MJ/XJ, 4.0 ZJ front springs don't do much of anything in a 4.0 XJ/MJ, a set of Moog V8 ZJ springs new in box lifted my 96 XJ 1" over where it sat, or 3/4" over factory specs. ComancheKid45
ZJ Springs gave me around 1.5" of lift on both my MJ and now reside on my XJ.
yxmj
V8 ZJ in the Front....about 1.25" of lift
TheRangerSteve
That's what I was hoping to hear. I'm going to start hunting for a set. I have the 2.5 so I'll expect a little more lift since I've got a lighter front end. Also going to grab GM shackles for the rear.
TheRangerSteve
Since mine is a 2WD do I need to find the shackles for a drop, or just regular ones?
mvusse
You need the aftermarket 2" drop shackles for a Chevy. Be aware that this will change your pinion angle and thus might cause a driveline vibration; an add-a-leaf would be a better solution. Best would be a 3" lift pack from Hell Creek. Also since our trucks have a pretty good rake from the factory, it might look fine lifting just the front and leaving the back alone.

X2 look at my avitar pic....lifting the front made it look level
TheRangerSteve
Been searching for springs online. Looking at the Moog CC782 springs on Amazon. They're variable rate springs listed as a direct replacement. Anyone have experience with these?
Eagle
Been searching for springs online. Looking at the Moog CC782 springs on Amazon. They're variable rate springs listed as a direct replacement. Anyone have experience with these? There was someone in NAXJA-NAC several years ago who was running those and he liked them very much. But I don't recall if they generated any lift. Mostly, they are designed to increase capacity without making the ride stiffer.
carnuck
I put 7" TJ springs in my Comanche. Settled down to 5 1/2" or just enough to clear my 33/9.50/15 tires with extended lower arms and adjustable tracbar.
