Well hel!, I didn't know we were being real here!

(for the Colorado folks) A bag of sinsemilla, rolling papers and a lighter. (Whoever opens the thing will need it to cope with the future we left them!)

(for the California folks) A Spanglish dictionary and a 'Gang signs for Dummies' book.

(for the Midwest folks) A bag of pure, genetically unaltered, chemical free corn.

(for the Northeast folks) A full gallon can of POR-15, with instructions.

(for the Texas folks) A pair of wire cutters and a copy of ' Winning Hearts and Minds' book.

(for the Southeast folks) A rubber raft and air pump.

and finally,

(for the Louisiana folks) Who?

(OK - OK, just really kidding Pete...don't slap me!)

Some good stuff happening here. I have a couple weeks before I'll be ready to cover everything back up. Leaning towards some of Jay's suggestions along with some CC gear. Probably make up something cool out of stainless to drop in there too. Not sure what just yet, but probably something cool anyhow.

What is this?   The ComancheClub version of O.J Simpson????

LOL the opportunity here... set it up so when the Time Capsule is 'discovered', the discoverer will think they stumbled on to something they shouldn't have inside of it [.50 cal ammo can containing a picture of random woman with a big X over the pic (or torn in half), bag of ashes (from a campfire for example), angry notes [b**** had it coming! style], a house key you don't use (a screwed up duplicate key from a hardware shop will work), an old chef knife, a few used shotgun shells, half roll of duct tape, a broken/smashed cell phone, etc.]. That should get minds going when it is discovered and make the local news 20 or 30 years from now... only to be a cleverly pulled off hoax.

Recall when in second gradel my class made a "time capsule" and planted it under a new tree on Arbor Day.  Often wonder what happend to the capsule.  The school was still there even 4-5 years ago.  Went back, but never could figure out where the tree was planted 50/60 years ago in 1956

:agree:

Time capsules are supposed to keep treasures from the past, to educate the future. You guys are thinking of a coffin. Bury it once and forget about it after a generation.

  • 3 weeks later...

Today was the day. For the capsule itself, I used some 2" PVC and a couple caps. Inside, we put a letter about who we are and what was going on at the time, an AMC Jeep badge, a broken iPod, a dollar bill, and a picture of us on our wedding day.
