A First... At Least For Me.

Drove to Charlotte yesterday to pick up a matress set we bought, got to the warehouse and the guard there asked me if my truck was original or a custom built thing. I told him it was all factory and that there werent many left... he just smiled and went back to what he was doing. I know many of you have had this experience already, but Ive had my truck 5 or 6 years now, and this is my first time. I feel so special now! So that ones off my list now. Now if I can just get strangers to offer to buy it from me out of the blue, I think I will be all set!

I was offered $3K for my (rust free, but far from pristine) Chief and turned it down... :wall: actually I was BSn with a guy and threw out a $# and he said OK

He said he never seen an MJ before and wanted it.

Would have took the money but I knew I could never replace it for what I have

in it (time and money).

The day i bought my first 'manche i drove it to the part store to get a few things for it, And the guy behind the counter was all "Give me a price, i want it" lol

Few months ago was at the same part store checking my oil & a guy walked up and offered me $2k for my second comanche

Went to the dealer the other day to get a windsheild washer nozzle (if you know where to get these for less then $20 each, lmk) And dealer asked what vehichle.. Said Comanche & He was all "Oh.. wow, Really?" :rotf:

Try that, get the "Wow, don't see many of those anymore... What engine?" Then reply with "Oh, the diesel.", and the parts guy almost falls off his chair.

Now that I've done that a few times though, they expect it and it's no longer any fun.

A real redneck kid wants to buy my truck, but I know he would destroy it.

I've had a several low offers, and a couple high offers and one "name your price" offer and the guy meant it. I always tell myself I'd take a decent offer, but then thoughts start running through my head about one day stumbling onto it smashed up in JY. This is the only Jeep I've gotten attached to, normally I can break up pretty easily with them.

No one's gonna believe me but i had a guy pull me over waving franticly until i stopped chatted me up for a few minutes while walking around my Manche the whole time and asks what would i sell it for? When i said it wasn't, he got quiet then said how's $10,000 sound? I thought abput it for a minute then said pass. Don't need the money that bad and thought "What do i buy if i do sell it"? And could think of nothing for $10,000 id want more. I get more attention and questions in this thing than any machine iv'e ever owned. And iv'e owned some high end stuff. So I'm keeping the old turd haha.

I'm in car sales now. I was talking to a customer that was driving a jeep and I mentioned the manche. He immediately asked me if I wanted to sell. He has been looking for one.

Additionally one of the other salesmen here asked me if I wanted to sell it when he first saw it.

Nope and nope.

I've gotten numerous offers to sell my 'pristine Cherokee with a bed welded on'. I will not let my truck go for any less than $30,000 and on the condition that I would immediately buy it back for what it is actually worth. I haven't sold it yet for some reason.

It's also pretty fun to count the number of people driving past that stare in awe at my truck.

I took mine the Jeep dealer to get some parts..The sales manager asked me where I got someone to put a bed on a Cherokee. I told him that the factory built it. Then he tried to tell me that he has sold Jeeps for 30 years and had never sold even one of those 'factory conversions'
