mjeff87
Wanna see some excellent fabriaction work? A guy over on NAXJA grafted a functioning tailgate onto the back of his XJ. I thought this might interest the group, especially those who also own XJ's..... http://www.naxja.org/forum/showthread.php?t=906877 (dial-up beware, lots of pics) Jeff
fiscus
Why does everyone keep tempting me with ideas to combine my XJ & MJ into 1?!?!?!?! It looks so fun, but both of mine drive to well to do this...
aemsee
Awesome work. Thanks for the link. Can't wait for it to get warmer so I can start working on my 'manche, which is just a frozen mound in the back yard right now.

89MJComanche
How hard is it to do fab work like that?? That is a real good job. I always thought that it would be easy to graft the back end of an MJ bed onto the back of an XJ, but that guy made it look easy with the fab work. Eagle
I am SOOOO envious of people who can do body work -- and have a shop in which to do it.

500 MJ
I find it interesting to see just how little XJ there is left in that rearend of his Jeep. That thing is a monster. I'm loving the diamond plate inner fenders.
JeepcoMJ
it would have been easier to put the rear tips of a comanche box on the thing...but then, where do you find ANY good comanche box parts. and as for people who can do body work, it isn't all that hard to fabricate the pieces to fill a panel like that, given the right equipment. it's all the finishing work...(being good at welding, sanding, smoothing, and painting is not very common). JeepcoMJ
...then i hope he's a fast learner, or has lots of money to spend. it sounds like a cool project to do, but it isn't gonna be as simple as cutting the liftgate in half and sliding the tailgate in there. If the front end is wrecked or somebody's going truggy, than might as well.
