Not sure if too many of yall pay much attention to it but I for one thought yesterday was a wild first day of NFLs free-agency period. Saw a few guys I like go to teams I don't. And so curious as to where Peyton is going to sign being a Broncos fan and all.

Yea..its been a fast couple of days for some big names...still a couple out there but i think peyton signs with miami or tennessee. Denver/Az are out..

Football sucks.

Why if you don't like football make a moronic post like that. Is it your goal to get your post count up or what> Go troll another topic...

Don't mind him - it's only a matter of time before he trolls his way out of here.

As a Ravens fan, free agency hasn't been good to me. We lost some key defensive players today on a defense that is getting older and slower. I can only hope that the voids left by Johnson, Redding, and (most likely) Grubbs will be filled with younger talent that Ray Lewis and Ed Reed can groom in their last remaining years with the team. On offense, the Ravens haven't done much either...hoping they land someone soon...

I feel as though Manning will end up in Tennessee, which is good news for our football hating Troll, since he won't be able to turn the corner down in TN without hearing about it :D

I feel like wherever he visits suddenly becomes the favorite to land him. I think we won't know much of anything until there is an actual contract under his pen. Id like to see him in Denver and keep Tebow, there has been talk about trading Tebow after signing Peyton. Having Tebow behind such a mastermind would be good for him. Other than that, Denver hasnt done much of anything either, just rumors about people.

If Manning ends up in TN... It makes him look like another Farve.. Just out to try and poke his ex-team in the eye a couple times a year.

Tebow??? The owner of Jacksonville wants him something fierce. At least Sahid Khan has admitted that he would get Tebow for business reasons rather than his purported football skills.

I've felt he would land in Tennessee before an announcement was made he was even taking a visit. It just makes too much sense, in my opinion and the organization the most to offer the guy.

I don't agree with this at all. Favre is Favre. Manning is a bit more of a class act than the penis-texting old timer and he'll make his decision based not on the strength of the team and its potential to make a championship run in the next 2-3 years, but also what the team can offer him after his playing career is over. Manning isn't dumb - he knows he's getting old, but he also knows that his little bro, who isn't half the QB Peyton is, has one more super bowl ring on his finger.

Tebow to Jacksonville would be great for that organization in the short-term. They need the help badly and Gator fans would flock to the stadium to see their beloved hero take the stage in the big time. There's just one problem with the scenario - Tebow and Jacksonville will still stink. Ticket & jersey sales will be up for the first 6 or 7 games, but when they go 2-5 in their first seven, people will again lose interest in the team.

Nope, not a troll.

I won't pay $250 a seat to watch a game. I won't pay $125 for a jersey. I won't wait in line to get frisked to see a game. I won't waste 3 hours on a Sunday or Monday to sit on the couch. I won't waste time to listen to sports talk radio. I won't support overpaid players and greedy owners. I don't drink. I'm not a fanatic or worshiper of men.

Nope.

Tolerant guys here I see.

To butt your head into a conversation that you clearly have no interest in whatsoever just to throw your two cents in is the very definition of a troll.

No it's not.

Not everyone shares your view.

Personally I like to be challenged, don't mind others POV at all.

And not everyone shares your view, but this thread was never intended to be a debate about your view on football versus anyone else who posted here, so why make it one? Because you're a troll and like that the attention is focused on you and your views rather than the actual discussion at hand.

If you want to start a debate, do it somewhere else.

:agree: All this thread was meant for was somewhere to discuss the crazy events that happened that first day. No need to troll around have your opinion heard if you obviously don't give a f*** about the sport.

The thread is for football fans to discuss football with other football fans.

$250 for a game? hahaha. get your facts straight bud.

i agree that there is no comparison between Manning and Favre. Manning can go anywhere he pleases and the fans in Indy will still applaud him if he comes to play there. Favre....well don't get me started on him.

OK.

I dropped a bomb to see who would crawl out.

As expected I suppose.

Pompous, as usual.

Favre is a bit of a troll, too. Likes to stick his head in when people have forgot about him just to remind everyone he's still around. Most of what comes out of his mouth is word vomit.

You can bet that Manning doesn't really like the attention he's getting, but he's used to it. Whatever decision he makes won't be to "stick it" to his old team, but I bet he'll love going there once a year to play them (if he goes to the Titans).

You're right, Eli isn't half the QB pouting Peyton is, he's twice the QB. I'll take the steady, reliable, and dependable Eli in a crucial game over his moody prima donna brother anyday. Peyton may have more natural talent, but Eli's a proven winner when it's crunch time. But better than either one of them was their Daddy Archie.

I'd still take Peyton over Eli if I had a choice, but I'd actually give Peyton a good supporting cast in terms of receivers. Eli has always had someone to throw to and pick up ridiculous yards after the catch (see Victor Cruz). Peyton has had some good receivers in Marcus Pollard and Reggie Wayne, but the rest were mediocre guys that rose to infamy because of the guy who was throwing to them - just look at how much those guys slumped last season without Peyton under center. Pierre Garcon should send a $100,000 thank you check to Peyton's house for getting him a long-term deal with the Redskins (although the Skins way overpaid for him...but they've never been known to make good decisions in that front office).

Both Manning brothers are pouty when they're not doing well - they both make the same WTF face, although Peyton is a little more vocal about it in press conferences.

Peyton better get the best offensive line in history wherever he goes or he won't last a year, especially the way his neck is now. It's a no-brainer for any defensive line coach against Payton; rush him and take him out because he's not leaving the pocket. At least Eli can motor out of there and pick up a first down or three about every game. I don't care where he goes; he'll be taking a hellacious pounding this season and if he makes it through the year it will be a miracle. Whichever stupid team picks him up will soon be stuck with a huge contract and have to unload damaged goods. Ersay did the right thing in Indianapolis.

I'll agree with you there. Manning might as well tattoo a target on his neck and if the Saints didn't get caught, they'd put a $10,000 bounty on every bone-crushing hit on Peyton. He's going to play the game conservatively, won't rush the ball and will throw it away more often than not. I doubt he's going to take many sacks and if he goes with the Titans, they have a pretty decent O-Line already and I'm sure Bud Williams will make at least one more big move to add some more talent to it. The biggest beneficiary of Peyton going to the Titans will be Chris Johnson. With a good quarterback at the helm and defenses constantly looking for the pass, it'll open up big, gaping holes for CJ.

Enough of Peyton for now, lets just wait and see what he says.

How about that huge deal the Bills, yes the Bills just gave super Mario? quite a load for a dlineman for a team that has many needs. Yes, hes a great pass rusher but thats a lot of cap space used for one of many needs.

And the Megadeal that Megatron got yesterday? He is definitely worth every penny of that. Double coverage? no problem, just throw it up and he will out jump the DBs and get it (lions v cowboys as example)

Its just day 3 and a lot is going on but the overall pace has slowed. One of the bigger names, Mario is now out of the FA picture.

Terra, Your forgetting a one point Peyton had Wayne and Clark along with Harrison (future HOF). Id hardly call them mediocre. The reason Peyton doesnt have a few more rings is because of the Patriots.

I think he will go to Tennessee with CJ and kenny britt.

Tampa and Washington have made the best moves so far.

And Brandon Marshall will be a huge help in Chicago.

I want to see the Pats do something. I think Michael Bush would be a good fit in New England

Yea, I realized I forgot Marvin Harrison after I submitted the post. Dallas Clark is another that flourished in a Peyton-system, but what'd he do last year? Nothing. He was too busy blocking for a crappy QB that couldn't read a defense and change the play at the line.

Just about any RB is a good fit in NE as long as they buy into the system Belichick has in place. They have a 5 foot nothing, 195 lb back in Woodhead that can do well. I think the only RB that hasn't made it in the Pats system was Laurence Maroney and coach Belichick made sure to ship him out as soon as he could.

I wasn't quite referring to Farve going to the Jets. His last stop in MN though... His statements to the media, behavior and play all made him look like he was just in MN to try and make GB pay for dumping him. Whether or not that is a real motivation to Manning, it will appear that way. TN was really a poor team last year, their wins outside of a last week win against a Houston team that rested starters were against not very good teams except maybe the win against aging Baltimore.

Tebow??? The owner of Jacksonville wants him something fierce. At least Sahid Khan has admitted that he would get Tebow for business reasons rather than his purported football skills.

Which is exactly what Khan wants. Jacksonville failed to sell out most of their games last year.. they even reduced the capacity of their stadium to get back on TV. Khan understands that Tebow is not a great NFL quarterback.. he is however a great Florida one...

"I think, when is the next time Jacksonville is going to have an athlete like Tim Tebow? Coming from being raised in Illinois, I couldn't see Red Grange playing for anybody other than the Bears or Dick Butkus playing for anybody other than the Bears. I don't want to get into 20/20 hindsight, and God help us, the draft record has not been the best with the Jaguars." - Sahid Khan.

Wonder if he could get Rex Grossman to back Tebow up?? Or how about talking Danny Wuerfulell out of retirement??
