Pete M
XJs and wranglers can use them because they have short wheelbases and more severe angles on the driveshafts. MJs have more wheelbase and less angle and so the t-case drop usually just results in a loss of ground clearance.
Blue88Comanche
after having problems finding a stock x member for my AX-15 i had to get an aftermarket option, it has a 1 inch drop but was suppose to keep the same ground clearance but now i can't use my factory TC skid plate
camjeep3
I'm at about 6 or so inches. give or take. I have no need for one. Just as Pete said! :wrench:
mvusse
Even on shorter wheelbase vehicles it should only be used as a temporary solution. It puts more strain on the engine mounts and makes the front driveshaft angle worse. Correct solution (when needed) is a slip yoke eliminator. My XJ with a 4.5 shortarm, does not have a sye or a t-case drop. I have no issues with it. But it never comes outa 4lo either.
mvusse
Mine doesn't either, but does have a sye. Same length driveshaft front and back (and same as front on my MJ) means I only have to carry one spare.
carnuck
The REAL correct solution is a NP208 AM with factory fixed yokes and wider chain than the NP231! (built to handle AMC V8s in Grand Wagoneers and Jtrucks) by itself Image Not Found
