shelbyluvv
I have always liked the way Labaron hood vents look on a X/MJ. I also like hood pins. With Betty being an 86 getting the hood latch to work is next to impossible because of my radiator choice. So the pins might be a must. Living in the desert cooling her cold become a problem eventually making the vents a necessary add as well. Should I, #1 put them both in #2 run vents only #3 run pins only #4 put vents in but sink the pins into the bottom of the hood through the rad support and pull them by taking the grill off? #5 sink the pins into the bottom of the hood through the rad support and pull them by taking the grill off? I am really leaning towards #1. Thanks for the help!
87Warrior
It seems option #2 would do you no good with the radiator selection. I would lean to option #1 as well since you like the vents and the hood pins are pretty much required. I would not want to remove the grill every time I wanted under the hood. Would converting to the 87+ hood latches be an option for you?
jimoshel
Have you gave any thought to cutting the firewall out and driving around with all the windows down? Straight thru air flow, no restrictions. Otherwise I would go with No 1.
dasbulliwagen
Would Dzus fasteners work in a situation like this? They sit flush. Might be something to look into.

btm24
#1 I like the look of both but don't do those vets there to square :ack: Brandon
maddzz1
What about using hood pins and elevating the back of the hood near the windshield for cooling. I remember seeing a pic somewhere a while back where someone did that for cooling.
Drahcir495
#1 - I am also using the hood pins on my 86 project
JeepcoMJ
ugh. when I put the 4.0 radiator in, I just redid the hood latch assembly so that I could retain the already painted hood. custom upper rad support combining 87+ and 86- parts accomplished it. can't abide the look of hood pins.
