Dad and I swapped my front axle the other day. I can finally use 4wd again!

the extra comanche tailgate makes a nice work bench / tool tray

I plan to swap on some WJ lower control arms so I trimmed the area around the LCA a little

If you don't mind me asking? What was wrong with the other axle?

nothing was wrong with it, just needed matching gears. Last year I took Dads D44 (3.55 gears) and swapped it with my D35 (3.07 gears). It was cheaper to replace the front axle than to re-gear it. The old D30 (also 3.07) will be put on to dads MJ this weekend hopefully.

I swapped out the old D30 shafts yesterday, I was trying to fix a clanking sound thought to be caused by the u-joints on the shafts, they turned out to be fine. Replaced them with CV style joints, I love how these new joints drive in full time!

And because I figured it would not hurt anything I removed the non working clock and installed a Vacuum guage

as it turns out i have a non-clock insert in the parts MJ i could have used, would have saved a little time and there won't be a hole where the clock display was... But that will give me something to do on the weekend.
