Paul Bruchal
Does anybody go to the hardware store aka """Lowes/Home depot""" to buy parts for there car or Jeep? I know its common for the DSM owners but is this common for any car owner? Like with jeeps too? Just wondering because on the way to work today, one of my coolant hoses busted... I asked a fellow DSM owner at work and said to replace the hose with "heater hose" from Lowes, witch I'm doing tomorrow right after I finally get my Jeep MJ on the road!
mnkyboy
Why not just get a piece of hose from the parts store? I've bought things for vehicles at the hardware store but usually when I'm fabricating something.

Automan2164
I replaced my heater hoses today... With heater hose from the parts store. I imagine it was a bit cheaper than what Lowe's is putting out too... Rob L.
87Warrior
The small hardware store in my hometown has a great selection of nuts and bolts, so I visit them often. I like my stuff fixed right, so I tend to pick up the proper part.

mvusse
Don't think I have any parts from Lowe's or Home Depot on any of my vehicles unless you want to count welding wire. I do have quite a few nuts, bolts and washers from ACE on them, though, and coolant/distilled water from Wally World.
whowey
I don't go to the Home Despot or Yuppy Hardware for anything... But I do have Menard's flares on my wheeler.
dasbulliwagen
Here are some brass plumbing fittings I used to install the temp sensor for my electric fan controller: Here is a shelf bracket being called into service to mount my power steering resevior: And here is my modified WJ electric cooling fan assy that I used a big tube of two part epoxy on to make it fit my radiator: All of this stuff was bought from Lowes hardware. And what is a DSM???
mnkyboy
DSM = diamond star motors. It was a mitsubishi/chrysler joint effort, cars like the Mitsubishi eclipse,Eagle talon, and Plymouth laser for example were part of DSM
