aresfab Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 The measurement I need are the rear bumper mounting on the back of the frame. Underneath and sides. I have a couple now but like I stated would like to get at least a dozen. Thanks you all for your help.
beepbeepmyredjeep Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 If it ever stops raining, I'll snap some pics and take some measurements while I give the MJ an oil change.
beepbeepmyredjeep Posted April 21, 2011 Posted April 21, 2011 Got to do the oil change, but didn't get to snap the pics because I ran out of daylight (worked late). Try to do it this weekend.
kineticMJ Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 looks promising, i've been looking for a good clean looking rear bumper, hope you are able to get it all sorted out.
aresfab Posted October 1, 2011 Posted October 1, 2011 Hi everyone, I have had a very rough summer but I am still interested in build stuff for MJ owners. I am currently looking for a rear section of a frame to mike out for accurate brackets. If anyone know of someone parting out a MJ let me know. Let me know if there is anything I can do for you guys too. Thanks. James 847.417.9683 aresfab@gmail.com Ares Fabrication

aresfab Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 HI guys. So here it is. We are making them out of thick 6x2x3/16 tubing. Not that 1/8 thin stuff some builders are pushing. It uses 1/4 frame mounting brackets. It come with a 2" receiver. This is not just a piece of 2 1/2X 2 1/2 but 3/16 wall tubing. This is a special tube that is made for hitches. It has a custom wall thickness. This way you will not have a ton of slop in the receiver. You can get them with D-ring mounts. And I am introducing a new option with this bumper. Recessed lights. Let me know if you guys think of any other options I should make for this. It mounted in about 15 minutes. And hardware is included. I want to thank all the MJ owners that help me build this. You guys are great. Thank you.
cody4359 Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 i was hoping to see something along the lines of the bumper on the green jeep in this thread. viewtopic.php?f=2&t=34047 i like the recessed lights option but IMO bumpers just look cheap/funny that don't wrap around and protect the lower quarters of the bed. just an idea
AMCJeepMJ Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 Wow it took a really long time to come up with a really basic bumper. What is this thread- 11 months old?
ejndssn Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 The work that the devil dog did on his bumper looks great :brows: . I am partial to the step variants of bumpers with a potential wheel carrier attachment that swings away which I have not seen any made  other than some of the mods on this site and what other companies are selling. http://www.comancheclub.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=33558he has done a great job on this bumper and kinda interested in something like it with a wheel carrier.
