1987Comanche Posted March 13, 2011 Posted March 13, 2011 It looks like I'll be going to Toledo for business next month and I wondered if you can/would want to visit the Jeep plant. Specifically I'd like to see Toledo #2, where both MJs were born. I visited the Vette assembly plant in Bowling Green a few years back and that was really cool but I figured they had more reason$$ to make it nice. The tour was about an hour but well worth it. Any thoughts on Toledo?
Pete M Posted March 13, 2011 Posted March 13, 2011 here ya go, saved you a trip. just a parking lot these days. nothing left but the overland stack. :(
glundblad Posted March 13, 2011 Posted March 13, 2011 I assumed the Toledo plant where the MJ was built is the same Toledo plant that the Wrangler is made today. :(
jeepdoggydogB Posted March 13, 2011 Posted March 13, 2011 Here are some pictures of the Toledo plant before demolition, I also seem to remember they were selling bricks from the old Parkway Plant. http://www.abandonedbutnotforgotten.com ... edo_oh.htm
robfg67 Posted March 14, 2011 Posted March 14, 2011 As I recall, factory tours were offered prior to 9/11. :headpop: Toledo currently builds the Wrangler in one of the plants-they run the assembly line 24 hours a day. The other plant builds the Liberty and the Nitro. The Nitro is getting canned this year and Jeep is announcing in the next couple months or so, what will take its place. Rumors include the next Jeep Pick-up Truck. ...and yes, the MJ was built in Toledo.
1987Comanche Posted March 14, 2011 Author Posted March 14, 2011 Well at least I didn't get my hopes up...
