need help asap

didnt know where i should post this but i know a lot of pple come to the pub section

my friend crashed his 99-01 cherokee and said i can get the seats and center console i need to know what i should grab so it will fit in my manche from brackets to anything in between

well he said i could get it cheap and i want the 4.0l but i don't have the cash right now but wish i did but i had a speaker box at the house and he said he wanted it so i was like give me those seats and the center console and he was like sure so thats the only parts i can get off him lol

Most people don't post as if texting on a cell phone, I think it's rude and impolite.

My daughter talks to her friends that way (she's 11) when she communicates with an adult, it's in correct polite English, or not at all. It's a sign of respect to other people, when they are treated as adults.

 

The console.... grab all the brackets and such. what you don't need, there is always the trash can.

be sure to grab the little bracket that holds down the rear of the center console. And the 99 seats don't exactly bolt right in. You'll need to fab some stuff up.

Depending on what got smashed, I'd also try to grab the mirrors, the door seals, seat belts, front axle shafts, obviously the front grille, and maybe even the t-case.

The bottom line is: If I can't read the post, I can't understand the question. If I can't understand the question, I can't provide a useful answer, so I don't even bother to post a response. The common language on this forum is English, not TXT.

 

And, BTW, a tech question should be posted in the tech area. Posting a technical question in the Pub because you think more people might see it is a violation of the forum rules, plus it's just plain rude.

 

Also, BTW BTW -- the seats and console from a new body style Cherokee will not fit into a Comanche without custom brackets for the seats and a bunch of carving on the console.

If the front doors are in good shape I would grab those. Also consider taking the windshield washer fluid tank and pumps.

well thank you for the help. i am so sorry older gentlemen like yourself could not understand such a language. next time i will make sure that i will speak more clearly so that old f***ers like yall(you all) can keep up. i like this web site but if all you are going to do is complain then you can shove it up your a**. sorry pete, djm/78, and 87warrior you are the only people that didnt complain. i got on my computer to send this so i could make it longer i did send that from my phone and i can only send so many letters per a txt so if you don't mind i would like it if you would get off my back about it. plus the only word i really shortened was comanche and i said manche I'm sorry if you don't know what that means. one more question why would you waste time posting if you were just going to complain about how i posted?

i know i wish i could have got it he is having it towed tomorrow to the scrap yard.

and the only thing that was messed up was the front end from the crash and the airbags were deployed so i just wanted the seats and stuff i would have loved to get the motor but he wasnt going for that lol unless i could get the cash to buy it and my funds are a little low and it wasnt 4x4 either

My 2 cents..this is one old fart that thinks you come across like an uneducated 8 year old ignoramus. The points made are that if you don't feel like acting like an adult, you shouldn't expect to be treated like one. Your post would indicate that you don't have enough education to even understand an answer, were it given. One would think you would write better, if for no other reason, than to show some self respect, and not appear to be such an idiot.

 

FYI, "old f***ers" like us can keep up, but why the hell would we want to, and why should we have to? For the likes of some young know-nothing? I think not.

And FWIW, I'm an old f***** and proud of it. Besides that, the main difference between me and the OP is that my parents brought me up to respect people older than myself. Actually I was taught to be kind and respectfull of all people. I do have to admit that when I was young and dumb this was not always the case.

I'm 24 and I use punctuation and proper spelling/grammar even when posting from my phone. You aren't posting from your phone by texting, you're using a web browser...

 

Beside all that nitpicking, I'd pick up the brake booster, master cylinder, pedal assembly, and maybe the proportioning valve if you can. And the front axle, if it's not bent from the crash.

 

EDIT: oh, grab the rear view mirrors if they're in good shape. 97 and up XJ mirrors will bolt onto any 96 and down XJ or MJ, and are a LOT bigger, you won't believe how much more you can see with them.

Back to topic... so you friend won't let you trade him a bunch of stuff, but instead get a measly couple hundred for scrap instead? Some friend. I would see if you could make payments to him for what he's going to get out of scrapping it.
