green_miner
has anyone used the rocky road 6in Bolt on SOA kit? Kinda wondering if it'd be easier than welding on my axles. that and when i do the ford 8.8 swap then i could just swap them over.
ParadiseMJ
I've seen those and they look feasible (and alot easier) plus they have nice looong perches. If you go that route post up your results and ease (or difficulty) of installation. I was thinking of using these too. It seems like it'd be musch easier to set angles as well. Pete M
the bolt on kits are axle-specific, meaning they will not work on a future 8.8. the bolt-on perch uses the stock MJ perches for strength and location, perches that will not be on the 8.8 welding perches to an axle is about as easy as welding gets. Mopar perches are only $18/pair at the dealership. jimoshel
Anybody ever made a set of spring perches using JBWeld? WELL? It works for everything else. :D
JeepcoMJ
yes! let's make sure we add MORE parts that can move to the axle that sees more stress! AWESOME IDEA! seriously. bolt on SOA perches are a garbage idea.
green_miner
thanks for the advice. what would i want to go in the front to match the lift from dealer spring pearch soa?
Geonovast
A standard SOA can net you 4.5-6 inches, depending on what axle, if you're switching axles, and how high perches sit.
mvusse
At the very least 5". For most people 6.5" front is a good match, but ymmv.
Geonovast
You can use this to calculate SOA lift.. A lot of people mention 2wd or 4wd leaves as calculating lift, but I see that as a moot point. Lifting is going from what you're at to where you will be. Unless you're switching leaves, it's irrelevant.

Personally Id never do it still not a single problem with any of thier products. My RRO bolt on SOA hasnt given me any problems although i don't plan to use it forever, once i get a D44 i plan to remove the bolt on section and weld the perches to the D44.
