Went out to my MJ to go to work this morning and found my dash busted up and my stereo missing. nothing else was gone or messed with and my other cars were untouched.

luckily the door wasnt locked because they left a wire with a piece of porcelain(piece of a spark plug)tied too it that they were using to break windows.

so now i have a custom dash and no music :fs1:

I want to go sit on my roof and play sniper

on a positive note the cop that came out really liked my MJ

Did you have a removable face plate?

A friend of mine in tech school really had an ingenious way of deterring thieves. He had a Turbo Plymouth Sundance he turned into a sleeper, and had a really nice stereo. He took the stock radio, tore it apart, and took the factory face off. He glued all the buttons in place, and make it fit onto the head unit after removing the faceplate. Threw the faceplate in the glove box, and called it done.

That way, if someone looked in, all they saw was the cheapo factory radio that wasn't worth the time.

Ive been checking craigslist for it but i dout it will get sold that way, some tweaker will probably trade it or get $20bucks for it to buy drugs.

It seems crazy to me that people still steal car stereos, they have gotten so cheap that it doesnt make since. why risk getting you head blown of or going to jail for something with almost no street value?

sorry man, if you look on the bright side, that plastic dash trim piece is replaceable... as well as it looks like they did not cut any wiring....so there is an extra bonus, they could have and really screwed you...still blows, but now you can upgrade....or use it as an excuse too.

My MJ got hit 7-8 years ago :(

Crackhead smashed the wing window with a rock, grabbed my (cassette!!!) stereo, and pried open the dash to get the faceplate. :fs1:

I had run RCA cables behind the seat for a (future) amp, they were sure to pull my seat forward looking for that too.

F'in thing was 6+" lifted, on 35's, parked on a main street in Boston, in the middle of the day. :ack:

I'm still not happy about it.

Its crazy. you put so much time, money ,and love into something like your truck and some jerk comes up and treats it like its a piece of crap. :headpop:

About 8-9 years ago i had someone bounce a boulder accross the front of my EXP,took out the fender, hood, cowl, windshield, and new paint job. :fs1: cops figured it was just kids messing around as a few others got hit.

I didn't notice the EXP in your sig.

In 1991 a buddy of mine had one.

I don't remember the veh year, but the thing was beyond a beater.

I got laid off from work, so him & I drove from Boston to Florida in it,

with the temp gauge PINNED to hot the whole way. :rotf:

(and we drove 24+ hrs straight though :rotfl2: )

I asked about the gauge before we even left Mass,

he said it did that all the time, neither of us had anyplace to be, so we kept going. :dunce:

We switched off driving every 7-8 hours, and tried to see who could do the fastest/furthest hour.

I won.

On my fastest hour I was able to keep my foot planted to the floorboard the entire time, never lifted even once, never touched the brakes.

The little car covered exactly 85 miles for the hour. :rotfl2:

Other exciting parts of the trip were when we lost the oil fill cap somewhere along the way.

It started running *really* bad (worse than it already was), when we finally pulled over it was down almost 3 quarts. :clapping:

Filled it up, capped off the oil fill with 'something', and it was back to it's slightly less slow self.

Fun little car, the only bad part was when we picked up a pair of Florida's finest ;)

and I rode in the back next to 'mine', sitting on that chrome cross bar where the seats should've been.

Oh, and no AC, in Florida, in August, wasn't so great either. :D

Mines an 88.5 EXP LC the very last year,it started as a 90hp CFI or TBI then went to MPFI then to turbo (kinda the same plan i have for the MJ  )

I know what your saying about the back, the lack of rear seats is part of why the EXP didnt catch on. I got tired of it and added rear seats to mine.

here's some pics they are old and poor quality

Thanks for the pics

After the abuse that little Ford four held up to at our hands,

it ought to laugh at the turbo. jamminz.gif

Cool ride tho,

I can't remember the last time I saw one.

After putting allot of merchandise in my store , I wanted to be able to sleep at night .

So I remembered some things I saw in the service. A LEXAN product that was developed for the military,

that is more like window tint. It's applied clear and sets in a couple of days .

You won't even know its on . The glass still breaks , but won't fold too easy. Its allot like

windshield lamination. Check out some of your local window tint shops. I think there is a couple of products

aval; LEXAN, 3M and one or two more .

Take nothin away from it, this stuff is pretty tuff .

You still have to replace the window , but all your stuff is safe and sound.

And it really pisses off the jackass trying to get your soapbox.gif

can you get waterproof web cams?

also my camera came with 80' of cable which i used most of.doesnt a web cam use a usb? could i get one long enough or could i wire it off a serial port with something like CAT5?

Something like this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 602_263622

Little much on the price, but that would have really great quality, no tape to mess with, and you could even watch you driveway when away from home.

The trouble with alarms is unless your close enough to hear it and come a runnin your self, they don't do any good because everybody else ignores them. It's like if you realy need help don't yell "police" Yell "fire" instead. Get more attention.
