i just did the manifold on my 88 chief. and that is such a pain in the a hole

 

is it just me or did you guys have a hard time with this too??????

Mine was very simple only took about 1/2 hour of course my motor was out sitting on a stand :D

can't imagine doing it in the truck.

It's just like anything else. First time was a nightmare. But I've done quite a few since and it gets much easier.

 

And yes, it's much easier to do it on the bench. :D

mine wasn't bad at all, just removing the egr tube is the hard part, gotta do that first.

 

other than that a 14 wrench, and a handful of wobble extensions are the tools to have

*shrug*. hands need to be small but a ratcheting wrench helps...especially when you make an extension tool for it (using a closed wrench doesn't work too well in that tight of a spot).

 

I take them off with the intake intact, reinstall seperate of each other...easier, and you should be replacing the intake/exhaust manifold gasket every time.

Not bad, the 2nd one I did, did the egr tube didn't fit properly and caused me fits. The later models, like on my grand Cherokee are pretty easy.
