brdhntr
i try to use it as a dd, but it doesn't get used as much as the suburban. i use it as a truck. i haul and pull with it. most of it's use is probably hauling the dogs to the dog club and for runs. i actually do haul alot with it, but more for friends and family than for me. the main reason i got it, it's a jeep. i'll buy almost anything that says jeep on it. trader ray
I needed a truck and work for a used car lot franchise. They have 5 lots. I seen the Jeep and the rest was history. I drive everyday, everywhere. I have the good job for the lot, I work at a farm that has about 800 cars and trucks that are bought wrecked and I pull the parts to salvage other cars or whatever is resaleable. We have 11 Cherokee's there. I been putting mine together little by little. I have a 89 MJ with the 2.5 2WD for now, it is a 5 speed trans and has been a Tennessee truck the whole time. cocco78
I picked all of the above, and then some! Originally we got the MJ so my GF could learn to wheel and come along on runs when I'm out with my Wrangler. But since then its evolved into something we beat the crap out of when my wrangler is down, I make money plowing with it, I haul stuff in it that I don't want to haul in my truck, we take turns driving it to work for fun when it is running good, its a teaching aid for my GF to learn to wrench, weld, plasma cut, and whatever else... The bed is about to fall off, but we are going to build a metal bed for it and I just fell into a nice elec/hydrolic pump to make a nice little dumb bed... Then right after memorial weekend we are going to tear into it and do full with D60's f/r link to build thread: viewtopic.php?t=4375
TNT
I use mine to take up half of my garage space, pile parts on it, store parts under it, look at it because of my back, weld on it, cut it, spend my money on it, trade parts from it for other parts, piss the wife off with it, have fight with the wife about it, block off the other half of the garage with more parts for it, store stuff in the cab of it, figure out what I want to do to with it, post here to talk about it, create an obstical course of parts that I can trip on from it, hope one day I will wheel it and daily drive it. Wow that was a huge run on sentence... :ack: There wasn't that option on your list. :D

I also have this disorder :agree: ....is there a diagnosis for it? I know jeep is just empty every pocket, but my wife is an early childhood special education teacher and diagnosis kids all the time and writes IEPS to help them, but she can't explain what my disorder is (in this area at least). It is my favorite four letter word :help: .
dasbulliwagen
I wasnt really looking specifically for an MJ, but I was looking at getting a cheap truck to be able to haul stuff when needed. I had my sights set on an old ford. I had told everyone I know th keep an eye out for a cheap truck for me, and then it appeared. My friend Chip has a buddy that was selling everything to move across country, and had this one owner 87 with 336,000 miles on it for $250.00. I was told that it had been sitting for about 4 years. So I went to look at it, and the OO hooked up the battey and fired it up! I was soo suprised. It didnt run very good, but ran enough for me to be able to drive it home. I put I don't know how many bottles of fuel sys cleaner through it, and a complete tune up, and the more I drove it the better it ran. Ive always liked the MJ's and now that I have one, I don't think I could ever be without at least some sort of Jeep truck. What I would really have loved to have found would have been an M715. I have always wanted one....still do! Right now my MJ gets used as part time DD, hauler, and after the 4x4 conv. possibly some light wheeling! You gotta love em! mjeff87
had a car repo'd from me back in the early days when my wife and I were struggling to get by as semi-newlyweds, bought my MJ from a widow and used it as a DD for about 5 years. Things got alot better with us relocating, started using it as the truck it was intended to be (landscaping and doing second jobs). Now it's an occasional wheeler/hauling vehicle, completely impractical as a DD, but it's a project I enjoy working on that keeps me out of the bars ;) Jeff
garmj
My MJ does an excellent job of holding my driveway in place. It spends more time apart than together but when together it does brush dump and Home Depot duty.
DirtyComanche
...but it's a project I enjoy working on that keeps me out of the bars ;) Jeff Actually, that's why I bought my chevy (did I tell the story of that pile here? I know I've admitted I owned it), because I don't have either of my jeeps where I live/work and I'll admit I don't have a lot of hobbies other than trucks/cars/wheeling. I found I wound up in the bar (or drunk at buddy's house) way too often because I simply had nothing else to do. I figure its costing me roughly the same amount as a drinking habit - but I have a super redneck truck to show for it this way.
