I searched for you as "author", in the "Tech" forum, and viewed results as "topics" (not posts). Then I scrolled down a page or 2 and opened up threads that might have to do with paint. Took about a minute.

Could have saved yourself some time by just asking. :D

Seriously, I tried the same thing except I didn't hit "Tech" because I couldn't remember if it was that or Pub. But ya, it would probably be a good idea to have a sticky in each section on how to use the "search" button. I know I didn't know about pressing the "topic" option until you said it.

This site is great, :smart: if we start treating people like their newbie questions are a PITA, then it will go downhill. . . Everyone started somewhere, sometime and didn't know jack, don't push them away! Think back when you first looked under the hood of your MJ and thought "man, that's a lot of crap". At least I did, now thanks to the tech articles and cool attitudes here, I look at the engine bay and know exactly what everything is.....almost.

Well put!

I admit I didn't read thru all the pages - it's kinda of repetitive. But seriously let's put this in perspective. What's the issue? Don't what to get hooked into a discussion to only find out youv'e already read it before, but you don't want to miss anything?

Picture yourself at a worldwide party of people with a common interest. Some come and some go and some just stay. Just been involved with a discussion on a topic. Then some of you walk over to another group and before you join in, do you know what everyone knows or what to know? Maybe you listen for a while and you either bring something from your previous conversation or you walk away. This is the nature of a forum. Nobody forces you to read everything. The searches and titles can use some improvement, but how many rules do you want to have. Do you want to fill out a form when starting a new topic where you check off predefined subject matter and whether you're just asking a question or adding information so that the viewer knows what he is getting into but would make it easier to search? Then the reponder has to define what type of reponse they are providing - clarification, answer, correction, more question etc. It sounds like everyone wants hindsight in the beginning.

if i don't want to read or answer i don't. i don't recieve many answers for my questions, but i usually do. but, i search and have access to other info also.

i must admit some of the questions seem simple, but i don't know where the questioner is coming from, so... :typing: &
