JeepcoMJ
headed out to at least two of the three places in the title for the next several weeks for work. wondering if there's anything worthwhile to do in my "off" time, but unsure if I'm going to just West Virginia, or W.V. and Pennsylvania, or those two and Western New York. gotta do tank inspections on some reverse osmosis units at alot of McD's

dasbulliwagen
Dirty Ernies Rib Shack right near the New River Gorge Bridge... the highest single span bridge in the western hemisphere... beautiful country! Dirty Ernies has some of the best ribs around with large portions....good stuff. Its also a good area for white water rafting with many rentals in the area. And once a year they shut the bridge down to allow people to parachute off of it... a huge festival for the area every year, I think usually in september or early October. jtdesigns
If in around Morgantown, WV you need to check out Coopers Rock and Cheat lake. WVU is the main attraction if you want to hit some cool bars. If you do hit up the Mountaineers Campus you have to take a drunk ride on the PRT.. The PRT is like a monorail/gonadal thing that'll take you all over the place... New River Bridge is something to see alright. There is a rest stop at the end of one side that has an observation deck down and out on the rocks. Gives you a great perspective of how high that sucker is. Too bad it's not the fall, in addition to rafting on the New River year 'round, you can raft the Gauley River which has several Class 5+ and some Class 6 rapids. Considered a world class run by many people. Only runs for a few months in the fall when the Army Corp of Engineers does a release from the Summersville Dam. The put-in is a Class 4 in itself because of the water turbulence caused by the amount of water realeased by the tubes. If you are in to hiking or rock climbing, you can also go to Seneca Rocks in WVa. Plenty to do around Pittsburgh if you'll be in that area, including Heinz Field home of the ONLY 6-TIME WORLD CHAMPION STEELERS! Don't know enough about the rest of PA to offer but plenty of guys on here who can. Upstate NY, can't offer much either unless you go to Old Orchard Beach and see if you can run across Sidd Finch and maybe get an autograph. Hard to believe it was 24yrs ago yesterday that he had his 15mins of fame.

PS I'll keep my eye open for a spare Comanche lol, thanks. I'm up for everything except for church. I really respect church-going people and their beliefs (which I share the basic belief)...however, after going to a horrible catholic school for many years, I am nowhere near ready to even attempt to go back to church. it's just the idea of church that gives me issues, so no offense meant at all but I can't do that. everything else sounds fun, if time permits :D
