My camera was with the rest of the family so it's not my fault. Coulda taken a shot with my new zippered hoodie. :D Next time I'll try to arrange enough time for some beers. A trip to the mouse's house is hectic at best (and is worse with 2 in wheelchairs) so time was limited.

Question....can anyone adopt these rabbits? I need to do some pregnancy tests..........

:shake: That has to be one of the most ignorant, insensative statements that I have heard from you dude. You need to think about what you say a little before you do it. My wife & I work our asses off to rescue these rabbits from people like you and get them healthy and adopted in to good homes. Domestic rabbits are amazimly fun pets that cna be litter trained and allowed to run the house free like a dog or cat and there are way too many people that just throw them away like yesterdays news because they don't understand them.

Try checking out our website to get a better idea of what I/we/they are all about... http://www.HugABunny.net

Take a look at this 4 month old baby that was near death in my arms just 4 weeks ago and is now a happy little guy, but still has some severe neck deformity from his experience with owners that did not know how to care for a rabbit.

It's OK Brent, I'm sure Sam was just making a joke. . I hope he knows that there are little pee strips for that. :fool:

Of course where I grew up, if someone was raising rabbits for 4H, they usually ended up in the pot at some point in time. Just a cultural thing. (Not for me though. I stick to cows, pigs and chickens!)

4H Rabbits here have 2 classes: Pet rabbits and Meat rabbits. Meat rabbits are usually groups of 3 or 4 New Zealand Whites, Pet rabbits are usually solo Mini Lops, Holland Lops or Netherland Dwarfs.

At least here in NE Ohio.

Yes, people like me who make jokes antiquated pregnancy testing(I wondering how many people who even get the reference). People like me who love animals and are not too serious to make a joke now and then. Clearly I should be shot.

That poor Banana, that has to be one of the most ignorant, insensitive emoticons I have ever seen you post dude. You need to think before you click on the emoticon.

All of the above statements are examples of the ignorance that we are trying to educate folks about and get rid of. I find none of it anywhere near funny.

What part about this post is ignorant? Forgive me for being blunt, but I feel somewhat put-upon now.

Brent, I reread this post (twice) to make sure I was understanding everything correctly.

I feel as long as it stays civil. It can stay. I must have missed a few posts in the thread before I moved it.

Boys, keep it friendly.

Ignorance means uneducated...it's not name calling. There is NO SUCH THING as a "meat rabbit"...the rabbits you describe are domesticated pets. If anyone believes that it's OK to kill domestic rabbits for food, then I will be glad to come and kill your dogs & cats for food and se how you feel about that...there is no difference.

Wild rabbits are game and I have hunted and eaten many of them...there is a difference there. I am not a PETA proponent as I believe in being able to hunt and fish for food if I wish.

As for the childish BS of Sir Sam...well, I guess if I am stirring the pot...you have to consider him a blender :shake:

My only comment on this is that many of you that crack jokes could really stand to use the appropriate emoticon afterwords so there's less chance of taking your words seriously. That is all.

No wait, one more thing, the white bunny (pictured above) with the sideways head has got to be one of the cutest animals I've ever seen. :D

Brent, I hope you realize that I have a great deal of respect for you and think you are a hell of a good guy. But please understand that your cultural thinking is not universal. Dogs and cats ARE food for some societies. I grew up in a failry impoverished (though we didn't know it) area of NYS on a small farm. All I was saying is that rabbits were not kept as pets. Many raised some type of rabbits, I have no idea what they were. I raised several pigs and calves for 4H. Some even followed me around like a dog. Eventually they met their end as part of the food chain. This does not make me ignorant or uneducated. I never in any way insinuated that YOUR rabbits would or should be food. I think what you do for the rehabilitation of these animals is commendable.
