Anyone else have any info on them, I was reading about them and they look pretty BA. looks like it could be pretty strong too, as there is an individual diff for each tire. And with the dual 5.7L, it would be very powerful. probably not going to be an actual production car ever, though.

the jeep hurricane is cray you can turn 360 and you can switch what mode you want to run in 4cyl 6cly 8cyl even 10cyl

which is awsome but the retail i seen on um is $57,000 and prob won't release any time soon with the state of the economy

and how chrysler looks but if toyota merges that would take the american out of the jeep soapbox.gif

These things are like cockroaches in hawaii, EVERYWHERE. And they all think they are cool with their balloons for tires and IFS, and little 4 bangers that scream to push those tires and can't keep up with a tired 4.0L its very sad really.

uuuuuh, that toyo doesn't have IFS. I know that the later models did have IFS, but in the 80s the 4runner had some beefy axles (wish I could say the same for stock jeep axles) and they were fairly cheap to build. If an older Toyo had a better engine, it would be a respectable wheeler.

that yota is a solid conversion, the dang front driveshaft aint even hooked up. It came in on a flat bed to a dang car show. They are respectable wheelers, but when they are a everywhere, don't touch the dirt, and are basic road toads with money dumped in it just for the style and look, it gets old real fast over on the islands and you lose alot of respect for them.

i wouldnt be surprised, i got alot of friends i go wheeling with down here and they got yotas, they are great little trucks.

But my main concern was that statement about toyota chrysler merge, that aint real right?

from antidisestablishmentarianism i have heard it depends on how the new administration under obama is and with the bail out money

if they don't get and money or rise in sales chrysler is up for mercedes and GM i take back my recent comment on toyota it was nissan who wanted it not toyota :ack:

oh yeah i knew that that dodge might take over a titan truck kinda build, i think it was gonna have the hemi too. And in exchange chrysler got a small car for southamerica production. Last i heard was a gm chrysler merge for finances just to stay afloat might have been in the future. This is new news to me if nissan wants chrysler.

Is it just me or do Jeeps concept vehicles look better than the production vehicles(speaking of the compass and patriot specifically)?

I think this looks pretty good, nice beefy stance like a rally car but lower profile overall:

A little too tonka toy like:

I dunno WTF this is supposed to be really:

Goofy, but the origin of the Ecco wheel:

Oh this would have been slick, and you can see the origins of the KJ in the rear design:

This looks like it would be fun with a 2L turbo diesel engine:

More evidence of KJ stlying:

Named the commander, but I think this strongly influenced the WK(I think it might have also influenced the jeep 2500:

This ZJ concept was nearly identicle to the production version:

(wonder if that hood still exists and if it does how hard it would be to make a negative mold from it and how many people would buy it)

Most concepts always do look alot different from the production vehicles. The hurricane i think was just a showing of what MOPAR (chrysler, dodge, jeep) were all capable of. Wasnt the body like carbon fiber, dual hemi, literaly 0 degree turning radius, independent drivetrain. Not to say they copied, unless they had this whole plan before like 2002.

Jeep Hurricane, note any similarities? Coincidence or did they really say that truck is kool lets build it.

Either way the price tag for one of those even if it did come into production would be ridiculous. People would buy it to just say they have one, they would probly go in the muddy grass after a rain thats it. If you broke something the repair would be probly as much as a honda. I think its just for show, i don't think they would make it. But i could be wrong.

just wanted to see it twice in this thread...when it came out, I really wanted them to make it.

I just noticed something, does the hood hinge from the lower grill and open away from the windshield?

It does.

Warthog_small.jpg

i know it can't be coincidence. One company took it from the other and i doubt the hurricane was even thought of till halo came out. I would take that warthog any day though, just to go have fun.

I would prefer one with the Gauss Cannon instead, I can take out a tank in one shot with that.

lol yeah but now a days it takes 4 ever to take a tank down. :fs1:

in the end it would be kool to have. Same with the gladiator. But they made the tj brute conversion instead. They say its the best thing jeep ever made, but jeep didnt make it AEV did :D

Ya the interesting this about the Gladiator concept is that while it came out 2 years before the JK it is basically a truck version of the JK, convert it into a 4 door, and boom you have the 4dr JK. Between concept cars and production cars it really is one of the closest things, that ZJ concept is pretty close to final design too. Neat to see that what was once a concept got marginally tweaked for production.
