xmeatbagx
I work at a junkyard here in CT and i gotta say. It sucks seeing Comanches come in and seeing them go in the crusher. We have two right now that will prolly enter the crusher before the end of the week. I don't know the point of me saying this but yea. GirsMJ86
your telling us that they don't even keep them around for parts?! i would be yanking all i could off of it first. that sucks, but what would really kill me to see go into it is any older classic cars or trucks. alex
Pete M
Out of curiosity, how much does a crushed MJ sell for as scrap?
xmeatbagx
I don't really know... i think we get like $200 per vehicle depending on the weight. Let it be known that i DON'T deside what gets crushed. Sean

mjeff87
I junkyard alot ( <--"understatement") and it kills me to see what they crush sometimes. And some vehicles I see in there make me wonder just why they were junked in the first place......must be the insurance companies these days  Worst thing I ever saw was a mint condition black V12 Jaguar...full leather and real wood trim, not a scratch on it. I guess it's a good thing that the 'yards are indiscriminant, tho. They could really upcharge things if they wanted to..... Jeff

Frankensteinsmj
Sounds more like a scrap yard. Hey maybe you can talk the boss into having a special mj area and stock pile them for us. We got the phone number, maybe we should all call and protest. :dunno:

Pete M
The hardest part of finding a cheap but decent-body MJ (to strip down and replace just about everything in the driveline) is that no owner wants to pay for advertising a $200 junker (that probably doesn't run), they just drop it off at the junkyard. And once it's in a junkyard, it's hard to get them to sell it to you whole and really hard to get a proper title for it so you can drive it to the wheeling spots. If I don't accidentily come across it with a for-sale sign, I can't ever get it.
