jtdesigns Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 Just seems like Moog products are always priced the highest in aftermarket.. So,,, is it worth it for front end/suspension parts? Like control arm bushings, tracbars, ball joints, rotors, and ect... Making a poll to keep it in the pub..
mvusse Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 It is true you usually get what you pay for. It is also true sometimes you pay a premium just for the brand name. There are a number of quality products on the market for the front suspension and steering from makes other than Moog.
jtdesigns Posted December 30, 2008 Author Posted December 30, 2008 As in front 4wd ball joints I've heard to stay with Moog or I'll be redoing all the work.. I would rather pay the price to only do it once.. But.... If theres a cheaper alternative thats just as well build I would like to know.
SuperWade2 Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 I put MOOG ball joints on both my MJ and my TJ...one of the lower MJ one's was bad out of the box... I just bought another... I didn't want to mess with trying to get a replacement for a $30 or whatever balljoint since I was in a hurry... Not many miles on either since (Zero on the TJ), but it seemed like a quality product... I got mine on Amazon.com for quite a bit less than any of my local parts jockeys, 2 Day Free, no tax... sw2

johnnyc Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 Moog was recommended to me when I was looking for a ZJ tie rod and drag link. And like Wade, the best deal I found was on Amazon. Even cheaper than Rockauto.
maddzz1 Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 I will let you know when I scrape the dust off the boxes and get them in( money, or not having any, always seems to get in the way of repairs). I have decided to replace the hubs at the same time since they are also 20 years old and it will be apart anyway. With new u-joints(spicers), ball joints(moog), and hubs(timkens), I will hopefully never have to pull it apart again.
