wolfpackjeeper
I am in the process of restoring all of the parts of the MJ i just bought before I worry about modding it too much. Where can I get the window weather stripping, bottom and side channel pieces? I know team cherokee sells them but the prices are ridiculous. mine are trash and let water in around the window in a hard rain. I want to redo the door weatherstripping as well. I am also thinking about removing the chrome trim around the dash and putting a rubber seal there like on the 97+ cherokees as well but I am not sure if it will work. mainly what I need now are the rubber, felt lined pieces that go around the window. maddzz1
Go to the JY and get them off a 4 door cherokee that has the vent window. I need to replace mine also but won't buy them from teamcherokee
Akula69
You can try JC Whitney...just look under the seal sets for the front door(s) for the 4 door XJ and you'd be right.
wolfpackjeeper
all the ones at the JY are in at least as bad of shape as mine. Ill search some JC whitney now I guess, hadent thought of them.

Teem cherokee is just over-priced, IMHO. I know you are getting orig. MOPAR, but for 50 % less you can get pretty much the same quality from JCWhitney. mfpdm
The only thing that concerns me about the JCWhitney window weather stripping is that it is cut to fit. Would be fine for the front of the window however the rear has a near 90 degree bend which the MOPAR one is molded for. Without that molded bend, over time, it would work its way out trying to return to its original shape. To me, fitment and quality, is worth paying for. Just my 2 cents.
wolfpackjeeper
the sad thing is, I can get the $200 kit for a 4 door cherokee and get almost all the parts I need with it being cheaper than buying the comanche stuff individually. The really outrageous one is the piece that runs up the front of the main window. they want $99 a piece for it. I was tempted to go to the dealer to see if they could get them and for how much. I am also gonna check at some local body shops.

No bad experience. I just think they are very expensive. I have actually bought from them and had a good experience and will again in the future. I may have to break down and atleast get the window wipes as mine are almost non existent on the outside. I'm pretty sure you can buy the individual pieces from team cherokee too. Window wipes were what I was referring to all along, so sorry to you and wolfpack for misunderstanding what he was looking for. I haven't been on teamcherokee in a couple months, but last I checked they did not sell the window wipes individually, so that's why I got mine from wholesalemopar.com, about $15 for each side. Theres a few sites like that and i can never find anything. I'll try to find them later on for you. In the meantime, PM Taz and see if he has access to them. He is our best source (and price!) for factory parts cuz, well, that's what he does, sells parts for a Jeep dealer! If he can't get it, it probably ain't out there anymore. ;)
PIKE
This is where I buy a lot of my parts. If you can't find a part by searching, send them an email and they will get right back to you with the part and price. http://www.moparpartsamerica.com/partlo ... eid=214583 Enter part# 55002337 and it will give you the price. WahooSteeler
I've looked on that one too. In fact, there are probably 10 similar sites, and Taz educated me that they are simply dealers looking to "wholesale" parts and/or have substantial surplus inventory, as opposed to a private seller like teamcherokee that picked up surplus and NOS from other dealers. Hence the reason I think it's worthwhile to use Taz as a first attempt in all cases.

wolfpackjeeper
what can you do for these parts? I don't really care where I get them from, I would just like to try to find a better deal than what I have been seeing. Window wipes - both doors channel guides - both doors possibly the weatherstripping

BLHTAZ
Sorry guys, but I have been very busy this week. Please send me a PM if there is something going on that you would like my help with and I don't see it or respond to posts ;) Thanks to mjdoa for calling me today to let me know about this one. Ya'll look at this picture and let me know which pieces you want prices on. The full door surround weather strips (#17) are $56.50 each as I just priced those for someone else the other day. maddzz1
If you get the whether stripping for around the whole door get it for a 97 and up 4 door cherokee. It is thicker and seals better. I just got some from someone who was parting out a 98 xj sport. Hopefully i get to put them on this week. brent, from that pic i think the window wipes are #'s 9 and 10. and the other molding are 7 and 11. # 11 i believe is the real expensive one, like $100  I will be looking for 4 door xj's ay the jy this weekend. But a good price on some new ones would be much better ;)
BLHTAZ
The '97 - '01 door weather strips are a bit more expensive. The CC cost on them will be $75 each, so let me know if you prefer them. I have been very short on staff this week, and especially today, so I have not had time to work on this stuff yet. ;) I have to work tomorrow (Saturday) and we are typically slow so I will try to get some stuff organized then.
