LEAD_NOT_FOLLOW
Between the door and the base of the seat. Easy access if you need it quickly and the space is useless anyways.

LEAD_NOT_FOLLOW
I've always drilled threw the plastic cover do-hicky thing-a-ma-bob. Run a few bolts threw that and attach them mount to them.

Pete M
I screwed the extinguisher mounts to the plastic bedliner right above the wheelwells. There's one on each side for easy access by anyone on the trail. This is only for trail rides though, as most kinds of fire extinguishers don't like to be stored on their side longterm. Eagle
Fire extinguishers don't much care how they are stored. On the side, rightside up or upside down, the problem is that vibration over time packs the dry chemical into a solid mass that won't discharge through the nozzle. Any extinguisher that's carried in a vehicle should be taken out and shaken vigorously periodically. If you can't feel (and maybe hear) the chemical shifting back and forth when you up-end the extinguisher, it probably won't work if you try to use it. jtdesigns
would wheeling not shake the dust up in it????
Eagle
would wheeling not shake the dust up in it???? In general, wheeling (and daily driving) just compacts the dust into a solid cake. You are supposed to remove the extinguisher, upend it, and slap it a couple of times to loosen the cake, then reverse it and shake it a couple of times to loosen everything up. All of which remonds me that I have not done that recently in any of my Jeeps ...

LEAD_NOT_FOLLOW
Add comp. insurance with no deductible no problem plus you have extra space. I'd say a good 95% of insurance companies will not cover the aftermarket parts value you put into your rigs. If anyone here is like me I'd got 1000's of dollars in aftermarket stuff on my rig. Not to mention the safety factor. What is something happened to someone else on the trail and they were unable to get out and the rig was on fire? I'd sure want an extinguisher on hand. Saying not to have one in your rig is ludicrous!
