  1. Thanks. I have already regrounded the tank to the frame myself because of the PO. I will be sure to do all of that other stuff. Thank you. Edit: Would that cause a no power issue?
  2. I will check the relays. I don't believe its the wires or I would be getting atleast something, right? This thing has been parked for a couple months ontop of a hill and was wanting to do a little work on it. May just scrap it.
  3. They are color coded but its not them. I know my way around a engine I just havent really checked yet. I'm going to climb under it tomarrow. Just wanted some ideas.
  4. Well my MJ isnt getting any power. Used 2 different fully charged battery and put new cable ends on just because they were old. The block ground "looks" good. Is this a common problem? Anything specifically I should look at? I'm going to check the starter area tomarrow. I'm not getting any power at all.
  5. Id search for the gate in the mud. I hate people who tear these trucks up. Make me sad. Thank you for saving it.
  6. You paid $230 for a fender?
  7. Well yesterday I put new battery terminals on and put in a newly charged battery but I am not getting any power at all. Block ground looks good. Has to be the positive cable. Is this a common problem?
  8. Well I havent done a thing on this. I tried to crank it amd the battery terminals are shot. Going to get new ones tomarrow. I'm going to move it down beside the shop and start working on it some.
  9. Ohh that would be nice. Use a modified XJ hatch on the back too.
  10. For me, it would be EXACLY like the original, except for these: 97+ Style, or even a slightly updated one 4.0 standard, Hemi optional Auto, 5 speed, and 6 speed options. Factory fixed yoke 2x4 and 4x4 options Rear D44 and front D30 standard- 44 front optional RUST RESISTANT PAINT Extended cab option. No crew cab. I think they look silly. Also ALOT thicker and stronger unibody. But all of this would be up to date with new safety standards and equiptment.

  12. If I had 250k to blow on a vehicle, i would buy about 20 cars and fix and sell them. Profit. And the enjoyable experiance of working on cars. Or buy Nissan Skyline R34.
  13. X2. I wouldnt mind one as a DD but it could no way outperform a XJ.
  14. I collect vehicles and pounds. I used to have 30 or so cars.
  15. I think I have won here... I'm 15.
  16. here's my 87. 4.0/BA-10/NP231/HPD30/D35 And- Black Interior.
  17. Get a old Cummins as a tow rig and get a cheap Civic or Integra. I know most people on here problably don't like those little Japanese cars but my friends getting about 30 MPG and he got it for $1500. He went 200 miles on 1/4 tank.
  18. Did you say the mini van owners creed? lol don't worry bud I got banned from Jeepforum for saying butthole.
  19. Thats actually what I was going to do. Do a full resto-mod. I actually made a deal with his parents and agreed to GIVE it back to them if I ever decide to get rid of it. Around here there are a couple MJs running around. Id say 7 or 8. Heck theres another one right here in my neighborhood. This build is going to take a LONG time since I do not have any income and my money goes into the XJ. Here are some things I want to do soonish: New bedsides Rockers Floor pans Bedline floors, sound deadener, and new carpet New fenders, doors, grill, ect Paint over the ewww orange New windshield Then I want to either: Replace the drivetrain with HO, or Just use the renix with new trans, t/c, and axles I'm not sure on definite plans yet, but thats the direction where I want to go.
  20. Thats what I thought. Ive never seen another non home made black MJ interior.
  21. Yea I know. I also have a 98 XJ. :)
  22. Ahh and I almost forgot. Recent pics: Only thing I don't like about MJs is how hard they are to find parts for.
  23. Thanks! The guy I bought it from, used it to bash into trees and stuff. My friend, when he owned it, spend countless hours scraping off bedliner and pulling dents to make it look nice. Then the guy who bought it just trashed it. Edit: Just so you know the intelligance level of this individual, he was going to weld springs the the body and axle to make them fit, was going to do a hocky puck body lift on the bed only, and notice the "jackstands" in the first picture. And rare? How so? I have all the parts just sitting in my building.
  24. Hello everyone. My name is Tyler. here's a little backstory on my MJ. Back in the summer of 2010, I had a friend. He had bought a 87 Comanche for $400. He knew I was into cars, so he said if I helped him fix It I could have it when I turn 16. Well after I learned what a Comanche was, I was like Heck Yeah! Well in March 2011 he sold it because he needed the money. April 2011 he was involved in a accident and died. Well I asked the guy who had bought it if he would sell it. He didnt want too. Fastforward to Nov. 2011. I got a call from the guy saying he needed the money and just wanted to get rid of it. I was happy. So I got some money together and went to go look at it. I was already set on buying it. I got there and this is what I saw: Well I cranked it up and it ran so I bought it for $200. Rented a tow dolly and it was delivered to my grandmas on Thanksgiving 2011. I have some pics but can't find them right now. Anyways it sat in the yard for 2 days because I couldnt get It running. Put gas in it, charged the battery, put new fuel filter in, then I changed the spark plugs and it fired right up! So I pulled it out into my grandmas garden and made a little video. Please excuse my voice. Well after that I had my dad drive 3 hours and bring the trailer from Asheboro NC to Brevard NC where I had bought the Jeep. We then drove back to Asheboro after loading up. Funny enough on the way home a guy that worked at a gas station wanted to buy it because he thought we were scrapping it. Now this is where I started slacking on the pics. I got it home, washed it, and took the bed off. Total PITA. The bed wasnt even bolted in. Only thing holding it down was the gas tank, and it still was a PITA to get off. Then after thaf we reinforced and welded the door back on with REAL bolts in it. We painted the gas tank, and the rear of the cab and front of the bed. Put the bed back on and regrounded it. Only took us a week or so ti figure out the problem. Then I decided to see how bad the floor rust was. Took out the Vinyl floor..... Holy ****! The floor on the drivers side was horrible... passenger was fine though. I have a video somewhere. Will find it. Started lightly tapping the floor with a screwdriver to see how bad it was. The hole was only slightly bigger. But I can still fit my whole 13.5 foot and shoe through the hole. I drove it through the neighborhood just to see how bad the handling was with no front shocks for sway bar.... Scared the living **** out of me. It felt like a lowrider with the way the hood was bouncing. Rolling deathtrap. Good thing was it sealed one of the 3 leaking tires! Then one day I took it mudding. See, the retard who had this before me broke of ALL 4 of the bolts off into the pinion yoke (?) And so I couldnt connect the driveshaft. But I still thought it could make it through a little mud. Thats me stuck. Since then its just been kinda sitting. Been messing with it a little but I usually work on my 98 XJ. I'm trying to decide what to do with it. Most people have problably seen nicer ones in Junkyards. This one problably belongs in one. But I do love my little POS MJ. :) Thinking of ordering new bedsides, rockers, and floorpans and such and restoring it, but I don't have that kind of money right now. So its just gonna sit.
