Scrapped it for that tiny bit of rust? I wouldn't lol. If you think his MJs even remotely bad, you should see mine. Anyways man I like your MJ and I will be following this build. Good Luck! -
thanks. ill look into that.

Oh. Well I'm not planning on doing it for a month or so, so I have time to think. Are there any pictures or details on doing the splicing or spot welds? I can cut and weld and have a donor. What all is involved?
-
Thank you! the whole pillar is damaged pretty badly from the PO. He smashed it in. Could you tell me in what areas are the spot welds? It sounds like it may be the better option for me.

http://charlieobaugh.com/AutoCheckReport.aspx?vin=1j4fj68s0wl184129#full-history Apparently my 1998 XJ with 202,000 miles has 366,000? and has been in a accident? something doesnt seem right. Edit: Well that explains the tiny dent in the hatch but not the milage. Thanks for the link though man. Edit 2: And my 89 XJ donor http://charlieobaugh.com/AutoCheckReport.aspx?vin=1j4fj27l0kl522626#full-history

My MJs A pillar is all dented so I'm replacing it and the windshield from a donor XJ. How should I do it? Just cut at the botttom and top of the pillar and weld the new in? or is there a better way? Thanks.

Teenage 1987 Comanche Pioneer Build

Thanks man! Well I need to decide what to do to it today. I don't have enough money to rebuild the motor yet. May just look at the cylinder walls and crankcase for now until I can rebuild it. I wonder if there's any vaccume hoses or anything in the engine bay I can get rid of? Whenever I go to put this back together I want to put in a AX-15 or NV3550. Luckily with the parts I can sell off this, and the XJ, I should be able to get parts from Pull-A-Part cheaper than I can sell these for. So I can make some money to invest in other areas of the MJ. I wonder if the XJs AAL will fit the MJ? Here's a short list of parts being used from the XJ: Front Axle Wiring Fenders Header Panel Bumpers Random Interior Parts Lift Kit Windshield A-Pillar I won't start tearing down the XJ for a while though. -

Well last night I was talking to my dad and I decided to finally tear apart the MJ. So I went up the hill to where it was parked and put some air in the tires -

Yes but I'm not sure what color. I mean this orange rattle can has REALLY grown on me. I may just paint it orange. But at the same time, Blue would be sweet. Green. Black. Red. Silver. Ill have to really think about it. -

Wow can't believe I havent updated this. I went and bought a 89 XJ 2 door for $400 with no title and 280,000 miles. It appears to be a perfect donor for this if I can't get the title. So if I can't get one this thing is going to be rebuilt with 89 parts. I'm going to try and keep the manual but for costs sake I may just go with the possible donors auto. I may be moving soon so I don't want to tear down this or the XJ and then to have to move, so I won't start for a while. -
Yep just checked. Bare metal. It did the same thing with the old terminals too. I just replaced them because the others were really messed up. Thanks everybody. I was going to work on my MJ today but I decided to take the interior out of my 98 XJ and fix the rust.

Will do. This thing is a wiring mess. Wires just thrown around and not connected to anything. This is going to be fun.
