  1. So how do i shim my steering stops? Erik :beerhead:
  2. yes, they are stock. :dunce:
  3. Thanks for keeping me from wasting my money, i think i'll get the rims for now, just because its an excuse to get new rims, so how much back spacing are we talking about here?
  4. Sorry, rubbing on the LCA's, 3 inch lift, 31' bfg at's and stock XJ rims shown in my avatar. Erik :beerhead:
  5. Can someone tell me what size wheel spacers i need to keep my 31's from rubbing? Its really starting to annoy me. Thanks Erik :beerhead:
  6. Good to see it out and about Jordan. Maybe next time you make a parts run up here you can use that instead of stuffing half of a comanche into the back of/on top of an XJ.The truck looks awsome though, keep it up! Erik :beerhead:
  7. I doubt it goes anywhere, but maybe to a show'n'shine. The huge rims make it hard to tell, but I really think that's a 5x4.5 bolt pattern. Oh, who am I kidding, it is. There's no lockouts on the front axle, so it is 99% likely that is is a D30 = 5x4.5. So, at best he's got a D44 or 8.8 rear. But it's probably a D35, as it looks small and isn't 8.8 shaped. Granted, I can't confirm that, but the skyjacker red, the stance of the truck, and the huge rims make me think it ain't nothing but show, and show doesn't require axles that will survive. Okay, so, maybe he drives it around in sand some. I've seen show trucks do that too. Bah. Might as well stick to the parking lot at the mall. :clapping:
  8. I have to agree, i think the 20's look like doopa, 16's are about my limit. Erik :beerhead:
  9. I don't even feel worthy of touching the same buisness cards that you sent me Pete! Hopefully this will help motivate WFC a little more to put the MJ back in the spotlight. Erik :beerhead:
  10. as far as i know its all bolt on. the fender flares are a little diffwerent between the years. the 97's run down into the bumper ends and you have to splice in the headlight wiring. if I'm wrong on this someone feel free to chime in. Erik :beerhead:
  11. thanks Erik :beerhead:
  12. :huh???:
  13. wow, that would annoy me to no end. fenders it is then. thanks! Erik :beerhead:
  14. For some reason, my idle gradually goes up, even when the truck is not moving and before i even drive it. when i start it, its fine and while its warming up, after 5 minutes or so, then the idle begins to shoot up, any ideas? Erik :beerhead:
  15. Looking through some of the previous posts on the subject, i notice some guys swap out the fenders and some don't. So my question is, is there a difference between the fenders? are they nessesary to swap the front end? Erik :beerhead:
  16. I love AFBs, especially going TDY. Hands down, w/o a doubt, they have the best BOQs of any military branch. The runway is the last thing built at your typical AFB; first come the creature comforts, i.e. housing, commissary, Class 6, BEQ/BOQ, hobby shops, cable TV, MWR facilities, etc. etc. The zoomies know how to live. :D Next best is the Navy, the Army is dead last. I had the pleasure of living on post for many years at Clark AFB in the PI and Andersen AFB in Guam, as well as the non-pleasure of Army crapholes in Korea and the RMI. No comparision. i completely agree, the rest of the base is top notch, even the runways are better cared for, i just can't stand the fact that if your 1 foot from the aircraft you need to work on, but its across the little red line, you have to walk 50 yards down to where the break in the red line is and then walk all the way back, not that I'm a lazy person, but i think it is a waste of time. i don't know if there are any other Marine airwingers here, but for us, when maint. control says to load those birds now, they mean now. it seems silly to avoid the line again wasting valuble time IMHO. Erik :beerhead:
  17. The Marine Corps. will be the only branch to have STOVL, the other branches will have CTOL. I got to do a little work with some f15's, f16's, a10's and b52's at joint red flag out in nellis. the only thing i hate about an AFB is that stinkin red line!i don't know how many times someone crossed it, why not put up a fence?? Erik :beerhead:
  18. Well i know the terminals arent completely corroded, but that moisture build up would make sense since this didnt happen until our first day below freezing here..... Erik :beerhead:
  19. Honestly thats something i never looked into as far as the grounding strap goes. And as far as the flickering lights go, the bad groung makes perfect sense, but it still doesnt explain why i have to turn on my headlights to start my truck. Erik :beerhead:
  20. Actually, the Marine Corps. has enlisted navigators in the EA-6B Prowlers Erik :beerhead: Do they? It is a path for NAVY NFO's(read navigator) at Pensacola. But they are all ensigns in the program here. I could actually go to prowlers for a tour after I wing. It would be a Navy/Marine Pilot, Me as a WSO or EWO in the front, and two EWOs or NFOs in the back. Doesn't really matter, the EA-6B should be leaving in the near future in favor of the Growler. I will have to ask MAJ. Butcher about it though. He is a Marine EA-6B pilot. yup, Marine Corps. is the only branch that has enlisted aviators. Your right about the prowlers being on their way out, but i have been hearing that for about 8 years now and still havent seen anything, i think we;ll see the JSF in full service before we see the prowler go out.Speaking of aircraft on their way out, when is the F-15 getting replaced by the JSF? Erik :beerhead:
  21. I would have to say either piloiting the Joins Strike Fighter for the Marine Corps. or racing indy cars. Erik :beerhead:

  23. Yeah, i had my ignition switch go bad before, thats was horrible. i was stopped at a red light at a busy intersection in rush hour traffic when it died. that the truch would only run for about 23-30 seconds at a time before dying again, so i had to leap frog the whole way home, it was rather annoying.
