So i went through and tightened all of my bolts that were loose on my exhaust manifoldin an attempt to cure high idle(suggested from another thread) and in doing so, i found that my #10 bolt is just not there(the very back one closet to the firewall). so my question is, is that a bolt that threads into the block and then has a nut on it? and can it be replaced?

So i began the next phase of my project which entails taking the 3:55 axles from my donor for my DD. but after i jacked it up and lowerd the frame onto the jack stands, the one on the passanger side cruched my rotted to heck frame. is there another safe place i could put my jackstands? or perhaps some other way to secure the truck high enough for axle removal?

Thanks jeepdoggydogB, i used the info on the link and now all is well

You make a valid argument and have succesfully swayed me from por-15 ing my whole truck. but I'm still curious about the kosmic krome, the only pics i can find online are poor ones that don't show me much.

yup, its binding on pavement. i beleive its a 242 but the tires are matched and have proper inflation.

'88 4.0; intermittant high idle?
smithe1811 replied to CRF136N's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
So since all high idle issues seem to be a little different for everyone, i guess ill post mine up here to see if i can work this one out. mine is not intermittant, it happens every time i turn my truck on, but only after a few minutes weather I'm driving or its parked makes no differance, and it idles VERY high, if i shut down, then restart it will happen the same way, only a little quicker. my intake bolts are tight and my IAC and TB are spotless. it started after i cleaned my TB and IAC. i went back and made sure the o rings were still good and everything was tight, so I'm a bit lost. i did however remove my TPS, could that be out of adjustment? -
just pull it out and cap off the t-case? is that spring a PITA to replace?

My wifes zj is stuck in 4wd, its not an all time 4x4 like some. when you put the lever back in 2wd the indicator lights suggest your in 2wd but its definatly not, its a 4.0 loredo. any ideas please?

I'm talking about taking the bed off and removing the interior and por-15 ing everything, it may be excessive yes, but i want my truck to last a looooong time, i can always replace the engine/drivetrain if that goes, but if the truck rotts, then I'm effed. plus if i was going to paint it anyway, why not use something a little better than regular paint. just my opinion i guess

whats that? ohhhhh its the VW kanooter valve, right? :chillin:

yup, the whole thing in por-15. i saw they had a product in their magazine that is for etching the por-15 so you can prime and paint itm I'm going to get a small amount first to test with to make sure it works as advertised. and as for having the parts actually chromed, that price would well exceed the price of buying a couple of cans of the kosmic krome. they woud have to polish the rollbar first until it almost mirrored, then clean it, coat it with copper and dip it in the chrome and give it some current. i think just the polishing alone of the whole rollbar would drive the cost up pretty high.
-
I was thinking about doing my rollbar, rear bumper and some other little odds and ends. so by shiney black, do you mean painting it black, clearing it, then kroming it? because sometime in the not so distant future my whole truck is getting por-15'd before i paint it.

Anyone ever used this stuff before? I'm curious about the finished product. i know it won't look as good as the real thing obviously. and for $70 for only 1/2 an effin pint it better be nice. https://shop.houseofkolor.com/hok/store ... PerPage=12

low ratio carrier???????????
smithe1811 replied to 88mjmanche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Sooooo, my parts truck has 3:55 and my DD has 3:07, both are d30/d35, can i just take the whole assembely carrier and all from the 3:55 axles and put them in place of my 3:07's? rather than swaping the whole axle over? -
:???: not even sure what that means.

So i bought a new "ipod"from ebay recently. turned out to be a rip off. reported it, got refunded and he let me keep the eye pod. anyway. so i was loading my music onto it anyway because i still need at least a temporary replacement and my son unplugged the sync cable. now all the files on the eye pod are corrupt and won't play, i tried to deleat them from the thing but i get a few erroe messages, one just says cannot deleat file, another says cannot delea file the foldr is not amp[ty and the third one says cannot deleat file cannot finf the source or disk. anyone have any ideas for this? I'm running XP if that helps at all. thanks Erik
