  1. Just out of curiosity, how easy is it to find and remove the metal trim? I just had a windshield installed, but all my trim is missing.
  2. Very nice, I quite like the FZ1s. How about 200k miles? http://fz1grl.net/2012/02/200000-mile-fz1/
  3. Missed out on that. Made a little progress by getting the windshield leak fixed. The old windshield broke upon removal, but even so the total bill was only $180. One less thing to worry about.
  4. Fingers crossed, I'll be looking at a 89 Wagoneer for a parts vehicle. I love a Waggy interior.
  5. In my experience, they might be bright, but you have to use an electronic flasher or load resistors. The downside is that they really don't fill the housing with light, instead making more of a bright dot. Stick with incandescent for now.
  6. How common of a problem is this rubber issue? I'm looking to convert my LWB 2wd to 4wd. Do I need to use a different drive shaft or can I just have mine shortened?
  7. https://seattle.craigslist.org/sno/pts/5539333158.html I'd be all over it if it wasn't on the other side of the country.
  8. Carpet and seats pulled tonight. More rust than I thought. Being in SC I have very little experience with fixing rust, but this looks minor enough just to patch and not replace the entire floor pan right? What should be my course of action? Poking with a screwdriver, this is all the holes I could find. Seat bolster bent to crap...

My 04 Sierra, Tess. My 99 Honda VFR800, Vanessa in Utah on a 30 day, 10,000 mile camping trip from SC to Canada to the West Coast and back last fall.
  10. So I pulled the carpet back a bit, to get an idea of what I'm dealing with. Didn't look too bad Image Not Found
  11. That's sharp
  12. I was definitely happy about it. No interstate, mostly 55 mph 2 lane.
  13. No, 04 GMC Sierra 4.8 gas.
  14. Thanks for the help, guys. Jeep is home safe and sound, pulled real good. Even managed 16.5 MPG pulling it home!
  15. I'm down in Barnwell, about an hour south. I likely won't be needing the camper shell.
  16. This is why I love SC trucks. That's a clean rocker.
  17. Just picked up my first MJ, an 89. 4.0, AW4, RWD longbed. She's a little rough, but runs and drives. For a little bit, anyways. Overheating, had a head gasket done and that didn't fix it, PO thinks it has a cracked block. For $350, I can't complain. Plans: To be honest, at this point, I'm not sure. I like the 97+ swaps, I'm definitely considering a 4WD swap, I wouldn't mind trying my hand at an engine swap or stroker. I've looked for an MJ for years, so this project will likely be around for a while. Immediate plans: Diagnose overheating, pull carpet, overall inspection to see what I'm working with.
  18. Supposedly the interior is pretty nice and he's throwing a bed topper on too. We'll see Saturday. If I have half as much of a good time with this Comanche as I did with my old Waggy, I'm in for a great time.
  19. Thanks guys. Yep, I've been warned not to tow it backwards. It really doesn't save much work and adds a few risks. Not worth it. I did manage to get him to send me a picture. She looks rough around the edges, but not a total heap. I know scrap prices are down, but I didn't want to haggle with him much. I still think I'll come out ahead.
  20. Thanks. Even though the trucks a bit rough, $350 sounds good to me for a (sort of) running, driving Comanche. I don't plan to put it on the road for a while, likely a long term rebuilding project. Like I need more of those.
  21. I've been looking to buy a Comanche for years, it's just never happened. As luck would have it, two days after I go and buy a Sierra, my great uncle calls me and offers me his MJ for scrap price. I haven't seen it in probably 8 years, don't know anything about it except it's overheating, 2wd , 4.0 auto, long bed, and rust free. I'm going to go pick it up this weekend (3 hr drive) and I was wondering if anyone could tell me what tools I'll need to remove the drive shaft and get her on a dolly. I reckon it's a Dana 35 rear. I'd rather not have to carry tons of tools to do a 5 minute job. Thanks RD
  22. If you have near 12v on both the large and the small wire while holding the key in the crank position, you need a starter.
  23. What kind of voltage do you have at the small wire on the solenoid?
  24. Nice. I went to Highschool in Due West. I live about 4 miles from the highschool. You're from this area? No, I'm from down around Barnwell/ Blackville , but I've got several friends that live in Due West. Gotta love that Waggy. I miss my 89.
