Tuff Country 3.5" lift kit question
RynoMJ replied to dan12's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I couldn't find any information on the kit, It could have been something that was offered but no longer is? There are a few companies out there that make kits for the MJ though. -
Looks good I just got an 8.8 to swap in I'm looking forward to seeing yours!

Most of them yes.

Been very busy with the jeep got all the parts to do the cooling system. Ended up getting a new water pump, t-stat housing and all new heater and radiator hoses oh yes and a Champion 3 row radiator! :D The housing and water pump were in tough shape! Much better. I had the inside apart so might was well do the heater core. Couldn't find a part number for this foam piece so the old one will have to do. I hate putting old parts back in. Back in. The old cooling system has to go! I'm a little confused as to what was cut off here? What did these connect to? :dunno:

Help Identify loose connections please!

Blue arrow on mine is disconnected also. Anyone know where it connects to? -
I'm really in need of the B pillar trim peieces. Mine have been cut by the PO to fit speakers and are beyond any sort of repair. I'm mostly in need of the drivers side as that one is cracked at the top. If anyone has any or knows a place that sells them please let me know!

I'm going to end up re-grearing anyway, so if I pickup this axle with 3.73 and my front is 3.07 not a big deal I guess. But still $$$
-
Figured out my headlight issue, the high beams would turn on but not the standard lights.
-
I would put discs on whatever I got anyway, so the 8.8 is a positive there and I would need to do shock mounts and spring perches. My axle ratio I believe is 3.07 so I'm not going to find anything with that ratio which means I'll have to re gear no matter what.

My jeep has the wonderful 35c in the back so I'm looking to upgrade it. At the moment I can get a ford 8.8 for it or should I hold out for a 44? I'm really not sure what I want to do, I know the differences between the two are minimal but the danas are so hard to come by does anyone have any gripes with the 8.8?

Installed the thermocustic, had just enough to do the entire inside. And my new carpet came in. While I had the dash apart I figured it was a good time to install and new heater core to avoid a headache later down the road. While doing this I noticed a massive problem with the vaccum system as well as the cooling system. Most of the vaccum lines were disconnected including the one that ran to the front bumper :hmm: I decided it would be a good idea to replace most of the cooling system parts and do an open system conversion at the same time. So I ordered all the parts to do the conversion. I see where the big line connects to but not the little one? And no idea where this goes In the mean time I installed the new carpet, I didn't go with the mass backing I felt that was a little overkill. Fits nice and should settle nicely as I install the interior trim pieces.

Wow that bumper came out amazing, nice job!
-
I'll have to try that, maybe. Could this be caused by the switch?
-
Would love to get it but don't have the space for it at the moment I'm sure there is some useful pieces on it. Would love to replace the b pillar pieces.
-
Update: ok headlights work on high beam but not off the regular switch. All other interior lights are controlled fine with the switch. Any ideas?

Is it a single wire? I think it is connected buy I can't tell, I'll have to look at it again tomorrow to see.

I'm currently in the process of reinstalling my dash, the amount of unused connectors makes it really confusing. I have the harness hooked up to the headlight switch and the parking and turn signals are on but the headlights will not turn on. Is there something I could have missed behind the dash I'm pretty sure the switch is hooked up properly. Any ideas?
-
Thanks for clarifying that!

So simply adding a capped radiator to the system will eliminate the need for the expansion container?
-
I did my heater core this past weekend and in the process determined that the rest of the system, thermostat housing and probably the water pump should be replaced as well as the radiator. I'm looking at getting a 3 row aluminon radiator and in the process of getting all the other replacement parts. Can someone school me on all this open and closed system stuff? I'm pretty confused/lost.

Very nice, I was planning on going with the Clayton kit, how do you like it? There was just a Comanche put up on Craigslist with a Dana 44 rear.

Good to see another Long Islander. What is your setup on your lift? It's taking all my time and money too but I'm ok with it :D Small update, finished the interior undercoating and ordered the carpet. Went to work on cleaning the interior parts Got some misc. parts in the other day, the euramtec lights everyone on here is using and some plastic window cranks, I wish someone made something more substantial these feel like they are going to break. This is some annoying hole the PO cut, I'm not sure what I am going to do with these yet, finding replacements is impossible I guess I am going to have to put one big @$$ speaker to try and cover it. :fs1:
