I'm looking at getting a 91' MJ, the only real mechanical problem that i can tell so far is that one of the u-joints needs to be replaced, but that shouldn't be a big deal. However, the only real thing that would stop me from buying it would be 2 bad rust spots on the bed. A spot just before the driver side rear wheel is all the way through, not to the bed just the first part. And the worst spot is on the passenger side rear corner of the bed where it just wants to fall off. I would love to keep the bed if i can, but right now what are my options, what do you guys do to combat this. I'll get pics tomorrow if i can. Thanks.

I yea, I'm really going to get under there and check everything out, floor pans, lines, axles, leaks you name it. Engine compartment seems relatively dry and oil free, which seems good. Also i would assume it is running the D35 in the rear?

Yep I'm definitely going back to look at it in the day, so we'll see what the frame has in store for me hehe.

I'm looking at buying a 1992 MJ automatic for pretty cheap. I went to look at it tonight, engine looked in really good condition, owner seemed to take care of it, interior is in good shape. Not much rust on the cab, just under the door which would be annoying to fix. front end seems fine, chassis seems straight. It was dark so i couldn't see under the chassis but the frame didn't have any rust holes just a lot of surface rust i hope. So i don't know much about the 92's so whats good/bad what tranny is it running, what T-case. what to look out for, any info on the 92's would be awesome.

I'm looking at getting some 16" jeep rubicon wheels to mount some goodyear mtrs on, anyone have any suggestions on where to look for these used?

I'm looking at buying an MJ only i won't be registering it till after i restore it, so I'm wondering how wide the comanche really is and would i be able to fit it on a trailer that i can rent?

I don't plan on abusing it, but is it able to handle a 44 if i plan to upgrade at a later point?

OK yea it has the 4.0 L forgot to mention that, and how does the automatic do offroad?

In 1988 what are the spces on an automatic comanche, I know it came with the NP231 but was the Aw-4 tranny in use, and is the aw-4 good for offroad?

I'm hooked at buying an MJ, me and my grandfather were looking into buying a vehicle to restore and modify to make it light trail ready. I think that the MJ would be a sweet vehicle to restore and modify cause I'm a big jeep fan and its an unusual vehicle, however, hes really against it becuase he says its hard to find parts for it, is this the case?
