Steering Column Compatibility
JeepcoMJ replied to bajajunkie's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
84 to 94 are the same column. Auto and manual have different key lock outs but can be made to work. I prefer auto columns as I can bypass the lockout entirely...no more annoyances preventing me from removing my key. -
30InBgGhiSo Joe Dirt is back!

I'll do some checking to find out if I saved the auto cad drawings for my rear bumper mounts...they could easily be modified to drop down further, considering all of the bolt holes are in the proper position.
-
Common as hell. Rob, I have 5 of those at my house save your cash

Are these bumpers any good?

nates4x4 has a bad rap for taking too long to ship, if they ship it at all, IIRC. research the company before you give him $$$. go to naxja. -
Maybe. :dunno: I knew what he was talking about. and I assumed. but assuming isn't exactly an awesome way of analyzing a situation.

really you guys? other than the snorkel...that m715 is stock. sure, 45mph is a chore. but that's not what it's made for. perhaps people should stop taking what the vehicle was built for out of context.
-
perhaps he should you know...maybe say that in his first post?

proud owner of a 10 year old optima here...works great. sad owner of a 1 year old optima. it already has a dead cell (or whatever is in them) and won't hold a charge more than a few days. it's wierd...I can run the radio and lights for 7 hours, but it won't hold a charge more than a few days...and there's no leak in my electrical system. it's the battery itself. Interstate has never failed me. you can bet your arse I won't pay $180 for a battery again...cheaper to put a good alternator on to run my lights and whatnot, and have an interstate.

brass elbow hooked to intake? what on earth are you talking about?

it's a damn shame you wasted the $$$ on an auto. that trans is going to give you nothing but issues. that said, it looks good.

when did you learn to use photobucket ol' man?

there is something wrong with your tree...and I don't think it can be geographical, since your neighbor's trees look normal...aside from how those ones aren't willing to step outside the box.

Wrangler 4 cyl motor in MJ?
JeepcoMJ replied to CHINOTJ's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
what eagle said. but...if you have a '91 or '92 mj, the injection system is the same. if you have an '86-90, you will need to swap over your manifolds. the 4 cyl block, head, crank, cam, and timing chain set are all the same. the ports are all the same. but to install it, you need to put your comanche oil pan and oil pump on it so that you have proper clearance on the front axle. -

Better. But suggest you add to your perceived stereotypes Aussies, Middle Easterners, senior citizens, and taxi drivers. regardless...it's not really my cup of tea.
-
Dayem, that's quote-worthy. Such a contradictory declaration. I think I'll add it to my signature. Naw, better not.............. people who fit their race's stereotype prefer vehicles such as the crown vic. is that better?
-
I know crown vics have a following. but...I'm not a cop, I'm not black, I'm not mexican, and I'm not an idiot. so that rules me out of modding it. I literally have zero interest in it. started to do a P71 swap to it...but just don't care enough to bother.

and, I think that's where I need to get to so that I'm happy...3 vehicles, modified as I choose, with never more than one in the shop, unless something breaks. my insurance just got cheaper, too....I have full coverage now on 3 vehicles plus renter's insurance, and I'm paying what I was this time last year for liability on just one vehicle.

I LIKE having modified DD's. ...if I could have my G60 vw cabriolet back, I'd DD it in a heart beat. and this is blasphemy...but the best vehicle I've ever driven in the snow was my VW cabriolet. better than a jeep hands down. that was with blizzak's on it in the winter, though.

I seem to get sick of cars very easily...trying to figure out why. currently, I'm DDing a '92 crown victoria 4.6l with 47k miles, no rust, and a couple dents. it's a solid car and runs absolutely GREAT. but...I'm not happy with it. it's too low to the ground (I have DD'd an mj with 31" tires at the smallest since I was 17...I'm about 24 now. and it seems that I always revert to wanting an xj again...then I buy some POS that has a decent body but requires far too much effort to get back to driveable status, unless I manage to drive it for 10 years so that the work I put into it pays off. I sold my '97 converted to '98 5 speed xj that I put alot of work into...and am still working on here and there for the owner. Sold it because I needed the $$$ and had a friend's car at the time. between that, and never being happy with the vehicle and always having to tear it apart (sometimes for several months) just to put it back together with "upgrades"...well, it seems no matter what I do, I'm just not going to be happy, and I'll keep digging a hole. anywho....anyone else ever get like that? -Pat
