1 screw up front of it dead center between the old sun visor mounts, and it's got a flat plate on the back...cut some of the headliner out and slide it up there and it holds in nicely :D it's got some major gremlins though...every once in awhile it will just die while driving, just zip and it quits running. it's wiring or fuel delivery...either the ford inline fuel pump or the leaking power steering pump is throwing fluid all over the CPS (mounted behind the harmonic balancer in the 3800). and my damned clutch master cylinder is leaking...yay :( it died again today...i tested everything and it all seems in good order, so I believe that I need a new CPS, power steering pump, and clutch master...$400 worth of stuff.

yup, if it were otherwise, i would just put the waggy grille on my manche, hook up the waggy turn signals, remove my turn signals, and put fog lights in place of them...kinda like what you did Pete, except with waggy turn signals. come to think of it...i'm going to do some more measuring. perhaps If the mounts are spaced the same i can cut some out of the middle of the grille and screw it in???? that would be the tits
-
nope, i'm holding off for the moment...the left side exhaust manifold that I made is obnoxiously in the way and doesn't allow me to pull the driver's side bolt out, much less get a wrench in there to turn it :( so i gots ta figure out what i'm-a gonna do
-
i wondered that too. here's the problem...the waggy grille is about 4 inches longer than the mj grille. so nothing would work... oh, and the waggy grille has the turn signals built into it...soo that would have to happen to the manche grille. basically, not possible without some cutting and serious plastic welding.

hehe, thanks :D :chillin:

are you calling me uptight? haha, i do want it to be perfect as possible. that will be different with the incoming truck...it's not gonna be halfass, but it won't be perfect either...i want it for a DD and for my wheeling truck, so scratches dings and nicks are for character.
-
liability now but full coverage very, very soon along with hobbyist plates..the 3800 won't be my DD anymore.

nothin wrecked. bad or badass? :P if it don't look good i can always put the old one back on...it was cheap so whatever :P

spanish has alot more feminine vs. masculine words and/or differences in words than english. there are many conjugations for past, present, future, and complexities of them... english has less divisions and less conjugations, but the vocabulary offered by the english language is often confusing...it IS harder to learn than any other language than russian, IMHO. but then, I fancy myself as a linguist...I am mostly fluent in spanish, and am learning some french and german, with full intentions of building on those languages...italian will be next, and hopefully chinese and japanese. i talk bad english too... anywho, languages are my "aptitude" according to all the tests and stuff i've taken, and i'm not one to disagree. I see your side, but generally english is more difficult.

hmm...something is wrong here. my speedo gear is a 23 tooth gear. my speedometer is off by 2.7 mph, as clocked with a cop radar detector (by a mechanic who has one). yet it's telling me i need a 32 tooth gear for my application...9 teeth would make a HUGE difference...i had a 34 tooth in before and was off by 17 mph low! so at 55mph i was doing 72 mph. what gear type is that applied to? there's gotta be a change in type here...

BajaBeater Project - 1987 MJ 4X4
JeepcoMJ replied to summerinmaine's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
people have their opinions...mine is that rusty's sucks, i've had 4.5" rusty's leaf packs break literally in half. i buy rough country suspension components exclusively...perhaps because i already have the sticker on my window  but they ride real nice and last a long time -
they should be the same. the gear diameter WILL expand with higher counts of teeth in my experience...try them? otherwise, it has to come from internet or dealer. what's the chart say for 31x10.50's with 3.55 gearing? if you could help
-
so what's your opinion colton?
-
what is the equasion for figuring out the gear teeth? and you have a 4 cylinder with np207 tcase right? those are different speedo gears...you have to order one by tranny and engine option...they are specific. one for a np207 tcase would be the same
-
no you probably read right. JeepCo thinks a mile-a-minute and changes MJ plans like some chang their underwear haha, thanks colton!
-
haha, that was me but after getting it and setting it on the truck, i just GOTTA do it. this was cheaper and less people have done it :D

anyone do an egr delete?
JeepcoMJ replied to xipantera31ix's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
you won't pass visual inspection, but I've done it on my manche...it has a 3.8 camaro engine though. if you do it, get a Nox catalytic converter...they're about 100 bucks but it will breathe well and pass any exhaust inspections. i don't even have an evap system and i passed with flying colors. -
spray painting the truck today
JeepcoMJ replied to comancheman's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
remove the badges with a flat scraper, go slowly from one end to another. the jeep one is removeable. it is bolted on...so you will have to remove the upper support piece over the radiator (not the whole thing, the angle iron that connects to the upper support and the header panel. unless you have a 2.5 or a 2.8...in which case just look behind the badges and unbolt them. spray them with pb blaster before you try to unbolt them or you'll break the studs. idk about paint thinner. but paint by sides, not by panels. prime however you'd like, but you should go from top to bottom on the paint. -
picked up a waggy front end today i cleaned everything, taped it all off,a nd painted the centers of the headlight bezels and grille black. also painted the turn signals and i kinda test fit it so now i gotta sand it, prime it, wet sand it, then thin the spare paint i have from when i got my truck painted, and spray the crap outta it so it will match, then clear coat it. hopefully i can do all the sanding and stuff by tomorrow, and then paint it a couple coats, then have it done after work on sunday night...bolt it on and voila! i got the wiring too, but it's all the same except the headlight wires...i'm going to use my existing harness and make a connector plugin to split the old headlight connector into the dual connectors. should be a sinch :D

upgrade from np207 to np231 on an ax5 tranny
JeepcoMJ replied to JeepcoMJ's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
any ideas on what year/model a np231 with a 21 spline short input would come from?
