:P she's cute. but if I'm not mistaken, driving age is 16....

that's not a jeep, it's a winnebago with wings... oh wait, no, it's a lowrider POSING as a jeep. sorry man, it looks good, but 4x4 on that simply means it can handle the road in the winter...not offroad. stupid daimler chrysler ruining jeep.

lol yes, the prop valve will function fine. it's the brake master cylinder that may not hold enough to work well...the drum brakes require decidedly less room for excess fluid in the fluid reservoir. you won't have any problems hooking it up. and no, I didn't know you had an 8.8 in it already...so that's why I made my point :D glad to know your'e not puttin these on a 35 :D

well, Eagle is right. If your'e getting the entire front half of the truck...well, you HAVE all of the wiring to do it. you will need to swap out all wiring in the cab and in the engine bay. so gutting your truck is basically a must. It's fairly straighforward to "gut" the truck...everything comes apart easily in my experience. so swap it all and be done with it. otherwise your'e looking at getting a motor apart...and while the motor's apart, you may as well take it all the way apart and check to be sure everything is OK and put new rings in it...then you have to do all the timing crap too and new gaskets. I'm not a fan of that kind of work and I prefer swapping things in to tearing functional pieces of equipment apart.

I solved a similar problem by simply installing a new "round blinker thingy". I used a high resistance one so that having a trailer hooked up won't change how fast they blink.

ever heard of Stanley Springs?

hellcreek, I did send you an email regarding them, and would like to know what sort of feedback you wanted to know so that we will know if my application will function for you. Pat -
a longbed 2wd shaft would be so long that it wouldn't fit...or if it did, it wouldn't be able to compress upwards... sure he didn't mean a longbed 4wd shaft? I'm trying the one from tatersalad later this week. still won't be making it. too many bills to pay :(

summer badlands meet? now official!
JeepcoMJ replied to 89eliminator's topic in Adventure Planning / Regional Groups
I didn't do it. worked on the 3800 instead...I am trying to get the intake moved up the left front corner of the engine bay and replace the trackbar. I think I'm putting the 89 off to the side for the week, I'm sick of looking at it. -
what I really want to see is pictures of the frame rails, and of the interior.

I fixed the bad bulbs in the tail lights today cause the rest of it is pissing me off and i worked 8 hours today and slept alot so didn't get anything else done. I will move onto cab corners tomorrow morning. again, cause I'm not up to tackling the axle issues. it will be tacked into place on monday, and moved out next to the barn, where I will leave it sit for a couple weeks. at this pont, I am making the decision of whether or not to sell it after I'm done with the SOA. I need money for school and it's either this goes or the 3800 does, or I get even more loans. I don't like any of them options.

you didn't misunderstand me...I just completely don't understand you lol. I was wondering what lift these springs will offer in any application, so what I can expect. I'm generally pretty good with numbers but not so good having alot thrown at me. I'll email you here soon. lets talk first so that I know exactly what kind of feedback you are looking for. thanks, Pat -
yes, I'm pissed. a mellow pissed actually. that's when you know I'm mad. I was planning on this and just too many things have come up that require money. honestly, school is more important to me than jeeps, especially since I've lived at home since my unexpected "semester off". I really want to go to school so I can make something of myself and not work at menards for the rest of my life. and scott, I am going to go see what my local place would charge to shorten the 86 longbed d-shaft and balance it. either way, I just can't justify spending the money to go to the badlands...even if I have enough. and Wade, there are still others that will be there. just sadly not me, my bro, or my dad. on a good note, I can use the time I took off to button up the interior swap and a/c swap on the 3800, and finish body work etc. on the 89. as they say, $#!& happens.

hellcreek, I have no idea what you were saying. the entire spring pack is a replacement by them, not just one spring... I think. and yes, I would be willing to test your 6" SUA springs as the 89 will be retaining it's SUA perches. let me know on that. -

Thanks. I wish beaterjeep were home right now, I need to talk to him cause we're still fixing his truck, but there isn't any possible way for me to make it to attica with a vehicle that I would be willing to take offroad. the 89 just won't be done due to driveshaft issues. I can't afford to pay for a driveshaft to be built, and I'm not borrowing money to do it. the family is tight on $$$ right now too so gas to get there just wouldn't be affordable. maybe next year guys, but I know I won't be there this year. I'll still get together the info I have right now for y'all, and I'll facilitate if anyone else would like to send me their info. sorry guys, but unexpected stuff happened this week and I just can't crank out the $$$ to make it. I SOOOO wanted to go too. -
I had thought of that but tater's got 1 broken leaf on each side... so I'm honestly not sure if I can use them.

thank you Tom. would you happen to know what lift that would offer? because it's definitely higher than stock. -
PROJECT BUDGET MANCHE - Now on 35's!
JeepcoMJ replied to LEAD_NOT_FOLLOW's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
ok. well I just hope no problems ensue. and have fun at the badlands, I'm bailing. no money due to school equals no work on truck equals no going to badlands. I could still make it with the 3800 but am gonna opt not to do that since I can't offroad it. -
woot! keep up the good work man!

you tell me when/if your truck slips out of neutral or your t-case locks up that you're not supposed to remove the driveshafts. man, being SAFE AS POSSIBLE is the way to go. I have probably flat towed as much if not more than you...tatersalad was a flat tow rig, all of my other cars were flat tow rigs. I personally have experienced a t-case lockup with a np207 that had a chain blow and it wasn't fun. so more for other's safety than my own malcontent, I would remove the driveshafts before flat towing anything. it's simple to do, and doesn't take much time at all to get done. again, that's personal experience and I'm not bashing you, I'm concerned for yours and everyone else's safety. just like when I said the 12" lift rig with the tractor joints for a trackbar is not safe on the road, it could end up hurting more people and then you'd find yourself in a world of $#!&. it is nothing personal, just personal experience leads me to take all precautions when it comes to these things...especially when the option is saving what, 10 or 15 minutes? -
so on the 89 I was underneath when I noticed a smooth spot on top of the springs at the back. closer inspection shows me that they are NOT stock (unless the metric tonnes were by stanley). they say Stanley Springs number 97 555 with another number of 20020118 by Payton Inc in Harrisburg, PA. anyone ever heard of them? I had my suspcions as the ubolts weren't the stock ones either, but the more I look, the more I think these are high arch 2 or 3" lift springs. if that's the case, I may be able to tear apart the 3800 and swap the springs, put these springs in it, and remove the AAL from the 2wd springs, and install them on the 89.

holy f*ing sh*t man that was funny as hell! I am sending that to EVERYONE i know. -
thanks. I'm pretty sure I'm not going as I don't have $$$ for shorter springs to boot. I'm gonna make a t-case drop today I think and we'll see if that works out in my favor. even then, I've got 3 weeks to pay $4300 to my school, to get my federal student loan payments suspended and resume recieving them for school, and I still owe a bit on the truck itself. so money is TIGHT.

yes. or have the t-case and transmission in neutral (for SHORT tows). if you've done a bit of work to your rig, pulling the d-shaft is easy. -
lol, the guts of the doors are un-swappable between the pre-96 and post-96. completely different. that's a 96 door it has a "vent"window in it 97 and up are 1 window pane

91 Eliminator... High Oil Pressure?
JeepcoMJ replied to GirsMJ86's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
no, out of 3 I have one that reads satisfactory. all the others were for engine options that won't work with the 3800 (4.0 or dummy lights) so I opted for the ones that WOULD work.
