  1. nice find! benefit...you've got a spare motor :P what're the plans?
  2. I would just go to the junkyard and get a system from a 1995 to 1996 xj. this is an R-134 charged system with the proper fittings etc. and being newer, is less likely to be junk. you will be replacing the a/c drier regardless. once you crack the lines, if you don't plug the drier, it is no longer useable (won't aid in the cooling process) to do this you need the condensor, all engine bay lines and pump with bracket, tear out the dash, and take the complete heaterbox and switch assembly with it's respective wiring. the wiring, will have a different connector but you should be able to do a bit of switching and connect it straight to your oem wiring harness...it's a seperate "harness" from the rest of it so no biggy.
  3. tell the wrecking yard to pay for a new seal set and piston set for the motor. the 3800 swap is hard (i just pm'd you about that) and you've already got this system "working" stick with it.
  4. welcome! nice rig! more pics?
  5. the jeep..i could deal with. where it's parked, i cannot.
  6. as the gin blossoms said (more than once)... hey jealousy...
  7. i got 18.52mpg while flat towing the new mj right after the accident. i wasn't even driving it nice. when i drive nice, with no weight in back, i average 19mpg city and between 23 and 25mpg highway with my MJ on 31" tires with 3.55's and powered by camaro.
  8. the theory would work...if the gauges ran off of the same pulse or whatever, but they don't. polarities are reversed, and sensors are different. the 97+ sensors route through the ECU first, then to the gauge cluster after being interpreted. you can do this, but you'll need to make some bypass modules or something along those lines.
  9. tim, i don't want to be there to see that... anyways, swapping the fuel filter this morning, and then building my new fuel pump for it from a HO xj pump with a renix MJ 2.5 carrier.
  10. sure, back in 2000 i still bought it in wisconsin :P of course...it did sit in a barn for upwards of 5 years...
  11. possible fuel pump failure on the new MJ i've got. no $$$ i have two HO fuel pumps from xj's and 3 comanche sending units, all from 2.5's i'm going to swap the pumps to the rails, put one in this truck, and eliminate the inline pump on the 3800 to replace with an in-tank one (quieter running) anyways, does anyone know if it's gonna work easily or not?

  13. ...i'm not sure how i feel about this.
  14. no, but why would you want to?
  15. haha. nope. i actually "payed" more than that for my newest comanche. of course, that's not a big deal when i payed in scrap metal that's byproducts of other projects... :chillin:

  17. I really like this thing...pretty sweet.
  18. lol. that might be ok. let me fool with it for now...i'm sure your wife wouldn't be all that happy with you if you brought one home.
  19. i wish death upon anyone who touches my MJ Due to the risk involved I can't touch it, I have to wear gloves so they will do the touching... ;) i wish death upon anyone (but me) who actively engages in any sort of activity regarding my comanche, without my express permission.
  20. easy solution. spray it black sand the black paint off of the high points. easiest way would be to put the piece on a lathe and have it turned down.

  22. cleaned it out a bit more, installed a center pane in the rear window (had a spare), removed the topper, and got it running a bit better Image Not Found Image Not Found Image Not Found Image Not Found Image Not Found Image Not Found here it is next to my brother's latest acquisition...he picked up an 89 4 cylinder 4 speed 2wd for $150 Image Not Found Image Not Found Image Not Found Image Not Found
  23. haha. easy catch...he's 10 minutes from my house :P
  24. i'm friends with the owner of the yard...he found it, and bought it only for the fact that i'd want it. it has a "junk" motor. that just means that the people who couldn't get it running, were complete yahoo's. so yes, i got it running. now i need to troubleshoot the reasons why it isn't running correctly.
  25. :P his is a shortbed...
