Yeah I just bought an 8.25, front ring and pinion, front locker, new carrier, gear install kit, and new chromoly axles and 720 u-joints. She was not real happy. :fs2: My only come back was "well i don't have a 600 dollar a month car payment either, I have to maintain my junk" LOL . :MJ 1: . Wait till the ARB bull bar shows up on there next month and a winch.... The wrath of satan may spawn....

She never bothered me about my expensive golf habits..... But the new "piece of junk" (as she calls it) that i keep sinking money into is drawing a little negative attention. But i love it... I may just want to string my purchases out instead of dropping a couple grand in a week.

Hey guys, I have seen a lot of talk about CAD axle shaft upgrades to the 1 piece shaft recently. Our fellow club member and Comanche of the Month winner MNKYBOY'S hooked me up with a link for these axles shafts. I searched high and low for the best price. And Robert at rwkhaussupply.com has the best deals anywhere. I got the 1 piece axle shaft and the spicer 720 u joints for 350 delivered the next day.... I though this was a pretty good deal and just wanted to share with you guys.

Used the same injectors in mine...... Only been about 6 months or 500 miles but so far so good....

The guy from the link you sent me has a complete kit. Includes seals, block off plate and gasket for 50 bucks. But if there is a cheaper way to do it ill tell him i don't need it. I have not placed the order yet.

Went ahead and bit the bullet and and went with the Chormoly axle upgrade and the spicer 760 u joints. Just going to block off the disco feature. Anyone see any problems with that?

Hey guys, In need of a little tech help again. As many of you know I am mechanically stupid but have the comanche bug. I am swaping out my rear end, changed gears to 4.56 and have decided to add a locker up front. I am pretty sure its a Disco dana 30 since i see a tube running to the transfer case. I know from you guys help that the stock 260 u joints and axle shafts are a time bomb with a locker, since I have to pay for mechanical work I would rather go ahead and upgrade axle shafts and u joints while its already tore apart. I seen a link in another thread for a complete upgrade. Check this out. They make it nice and EZ. http://www.ironrocko... ... y_Code=XDT This seems a little expensive. Is there a better way to go? Can I buy used axle shafts from a junk yard and just new u joint? What year and model would be compatable with the comanche? Or should I just plan on having to spend 500 dollars to keep from blowing u joints everytime I want to go wheeling. Thanks as always for any and all help. I tried to search the site before posting this but I am still unclear of my options.

Well its done.... Went with the Spartan and new carrier :thumbsup: Rear swap should be done within the next few weeks. Will be completely locked with some gears finally. Those stock gears really hate 33's. Guess axles are next in line. I really want a bumper and winch. But I think getting it running strong is first in line. . :MJ 1: .

Everything has to come out anyway. I am going from stock gears to 4.56.

Guess now I need to search cad axle swap...... Lol. The more I learn the more it cost...
