  1. I talked with a kid today and looked at his MJ and sure enough his prop rod was the same way  i mentioned that 2 him and he said he would fix that ;)
  2. lol I have never seen a floor shift auto MJ that i can rememeber :peek:
  3. Sures is just a base model but she sure is purrty  http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1989-Jee ... 43a38cb039
  4. He chose not to jump it either. it came away with nothing more than a bad PS pump :clapping:
  5. itll just pop off. pop it off and move the bar so its pointing in the 3 o clock and reinstall.
  6. Your braking power will likely improve.
  7. I'm starting to look for XJs for my girlfriend as well.....Ford Rangers are a mechanics nightmare
  8. The ground behind the tail light was clean a few months ago when i checked it, i will pop the light out and check it again. the ground to the engine is clean and tight as well.
  9. Alternator is a new 1 installed last spring. I drove it this evening and it only managed to drop on me 1 time throughout a decent trip in the mountains.....idk excatly what it is but i might look into upgrading the headlight harness in the future. For now both terminals and cable are tight and in good shape and it does its job so we'll see what comes of it.
  10. Made something else work today too :smart: 8)
  11. Alright ive been chasing this issue and will continue to do so but figured Id see if I could find anything new about it here. This is my 88 4.0l AW4. What ive got here is at night with headlights and driving lights on whenever i hit a bump while off the gas my voltage gauge (which isnt really accurate to start with) drops all but into the red for a second or 2 then revives itself back to normal, all my lights dim at that time as well. If I'm on the gas going down the road it doesnt phase it, its just when RPMs are low. Ive tested votage at the battery with every single load i could put on it and I get a reading of app. 12.6v at the posts. With just headlights and driving lights i get 13.7v so the Alternator is doing its job fine, however I havent seen what it drops to when i hit bumps with a load on the alternator. My ground cable is in good shape and the terminal is tight on the battery, I'm going to rechack everything here today but was wondering if theres a regulator or something that could be going bad or knocked loose somewhere. Ill post up if i come across anything else, and thanks for any help :hmm: ;)
  12. Well I'm sure the "body work" updates are getting old but here should be the final 1s. threw on some putty to smooth out the patch just a bit. and a quick shot of primer for now. Also stripped the badging and body trim and began scuffing up the areas that needed it. Have another set of wheels for it to install and then itll be almost time for paint!
  13. I have a D44 LWB drive shaft....idk if it would work on a stock height D35 truck or not, only about an inch of difference as far as i know :dunno:
  14. Ordered a Yukon Locker for the D30 on my 88
  15. a D44 would still sit pretty under there though
  16. Sounds like a canidate for a simple 3" and 31" tires. Sounds like you have about 2" worth of the lift right in front of ya, so definently just pull the parts you want and swap em over. As for anything else just pick up a set of XJ 2" rear shackles (about 1-1.5" on an MJ) and a set of 1.5" pucks (coil spacers) for the front and you should be set. My 88 with about 3.5" of lift and 31" tires is on the far right, the 90 Eliminator (Red truck) is Stock on 30" tires so theres somewhat of a comparison for ya  As for the install. You should not need coil compressers for 2" springs, just find a friend, some tools and a few hours and I'm sure when you take a peak under there and whats all involved youll storm right through it in no time
  17. Alright stupid question but ive experienced it.... Have you had the CD player out or replaced it with another? Check the plug behind the controls if you have, i knocked mine loose 1 time and couldent for the life of me figure out why the blower motor wouldent run. If thats not the case check the resistor above the passengers feet under the dash.
  18. Thats very true, i have a drop bracket on my track bar so thats likely what is causing mine. Cool, atleast i have a reason
  19. Awesome! Make sure to get some pics up soon
  20. Ive just kinda delt with it, i never really noticed it till i got to around 3.5" of lift. its about 1" lower on the Drivers side but nothing to make me worry, its drives fine :dunno:
  21. Patch Panel in. A Quick coat of paint till i can get around to sealing it all up and smoothing it out. 1 step closer to painting
  22. Now that would be cool! but a top coating would still be required to maintain a pretty color, POR15 fades to a dull grey in No time if expeosed to UV rays.
  23. The patch repair had begun. My uncle who has been a professional welder for a few years was up to the challenge. Getting the area setup. Going to work, we got the patch tacked in place when we decided 2 call its quits for the evening. We'll wrap it up this evening. Stay tuned 8)
  24. Ah we'll get it sometime. I'm up for another shot whenever.....don't give up yet guys
