Woah Black Betty! Ham or Lamb?!
krustyballer16 replied to krustyballer16's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
Itll be a year or so, been collecting parts for a year I think ao far. Got a 99 LQ4 (whole truck) and got a 2wd tranny instead of the 4x4, novak radiator with fans and motor mounts and headers and a full swb mj dual exhaust. Plan is to just swap the motor straight over, dyno then mildly build it. Then turbo it. Ivr got an amc20 with 3.73s that I'm thinking of using Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk -

Not until it blows up I have faith in it geared low with not huge tires, not much more power than the 4.0. Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk -

88' Bench seat to Buckets question

Bench and MJ bucket seat brackets are the same. Or you can buy my repop brackets instead of cutting yours off your bench. Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk -
88' Bench seat to Buckets question
krustyballer16 replied to TheBearken's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Vin decoder says the bench was indeed swapped in...I've never had buckets in an mj (only xjs, but same thing anyways) I don't think they're any more uncomfortable than anything else. The seats in my 2016 ram are very uncomfortable. Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk -
Yep, looks like the seat and console were swapped for some reason... damn. And your other book tells if it's an eliminator or not? I have no idea what any or the other codes mean. Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk

1990 Eliminator (supposedly, this is the reason I'm doing the vin decoder) 4.0/aw4/231 dana 30/35 SWB Build date: can't read the sticker, painted over. Current Location: Cory,IN I got it from a guy in Marengo,IN that got it from the 1st or 2nd owner. Status: we put the 4.0 back together and it runs and would drive if I had money and time to plate it and fix a few small things Notes: This is where I need the decoding work! It's an eliminator, title says...but it has a BENCH SEAT and floor shift with mini console, tilt wheel, manual doors (all in matching grey), rear slider, no A/C, rear bumper, full gauges It is white with grey interior. All the help with clearing up the bench seat question is appreciated. Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk

88' Bench seat to Buckets question
krustyballer16 replied to TheBearken's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
My 91 elimiantor has a bench in it... But pete is correct, all buckets from an mj are direct bolt in, 84-94 cm seats require mj brackets to fit. You can drill them off your bench seat or you can buy a set of reproduction ones from me Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk -

It's actually not that bad. It's mostly all still in the factory wire looms or whatever. Its just all pulled down out of the dash. But it could be gone thru and cleaned up some. 90% of that gets tucked back under the dash like factory. Theres only a couple splices and extra plug ins that carried over between the different harnesses. Bo did a really good job at marking and matching up ALL the wires. I woulda never committed to such an annoying process! Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk -

First start up since I got it from Bo almost 2 years ago! Sounds healthy. Just some random pics of the wiring mess I made trying to track down fuel pump wires. gotta sort thru it. Got the y pipe on it a few months back. Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk -
If you like dumbass, funny comedians talking about history and it actually being educational and informing you of how screwed up our country (and Australia, canada and iceland) were and still are, then The Dollop is where its at! It keeps me very entertained at work all day! Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk

This shows the non rocking stock black seat compared to a rocker red seat on the non rocker brackets in an xj... I never really measured but at least 2" taller I'd say (black seat cushions are FLAT so might actually measure 3" here but a good seat cushion would say 2" difference) You can definitely tell when your legs are under the steering wheel... I'd assume the height difference would be the same in a comanche also. The headroom might differ but the butt cushion part would be the same difference higher I'd think I'll be putting a set of red rocker 4 door xj seats in my MJ eventually. I'll have to cut my reproduction brackets down a bit to make them the right height for me. Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk

Wow I need to update this! I've done a lot of work since this! Got the radiator hoses ran, got tranny cooler and lines ran, got exhaust on, FINALLY got power to the fuel pump but now no spark (didnt look into it much yet) AND I found all the pieces to a porno red interior finally. Red buckets and console too! Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk -
So my girlfriend has a 2015 Chevy equinox... On Star called her a few weeks ago and told her they show some kind of a problem with the ABS on her car. (She isnt a paying on star subscriber, so I'm not sure how they got this "reading" for this issue) There were no lights on the dash or any issues while driving, nothing. But she takes it to the dealer anyways cuz that's what her grandma, who retired from Allison and gets chevy discounts and thats all they've ever had, told her to do. So she takes It in and the stealership does their thing and tells her it's something in the transmission and itll be $250... neither my girlfriend or her grandma know anything about cars so they tell them to fix it and get it done. I get home and shows me the itemized bill. Instant facepalm! Makes me mad that the dealership took advantage of them like this.... Read the bill.... Has anybody else gotten a worse bill for less? Amazing what they can get away with! Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk

Aw4 slipping in reverse
krustyballer16 replied to Fryedaddy's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Fluid level was my first guess. Even though I'd think itd slip in every gear...but I checked and its filled right and i changed fluid not too long ago (less than 1000 miles) Guess i should mention mine went out after rocking back and forth full throttle in a mud hole... I have the same issue, I think. In my 01 cherokee. Reverse died after wheeling one day. Put it in reverse and barely moves with throttle. I havent had time to investigate it at all other than driving it into my driveway off my trailer. All forward gears are fine Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk -

Havent posted here in a while... I have a "deal"! Got in a hurry before a show and built a hitch "wrong" The reciever tube is backwards which means the hole your pin goes thru is further back than it should be. Could be an issue with some balls, some it won't be. So you may have to line up your ball in the reciever and drill a 2nd pin hole thru it to use with this. Instead of cutting it apart or drilling a new hole, I'm gonna let it go for 25% off. I'll even include a new drill bit so you can drill it quickly and smoothly. So its discounted to $140+ shipping. OR if someone wants to come pick it up locally, I'll let it go for $130... First pic shows the issue, 2nd pic shows where the hole needs to This is cross posted in a few places so someone claim it quick! be.... Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk -
