ehh its ok, but it isn't a jeep. jeep kinda died after the xj disapeared imo. i do really likethe jk, but its still too much money. on a side note the kj libertys are really growing on me lately espacially after drivng them. (i work at a used car lot) and i found some really sweet front and rear bumpers for them. http://www.rocklizardfabrications.com/jeep_liberty.htm

don't forget you can get disc brakes for a 8.25 too. i belive zj's or wj's 8.25 discs are a direct swap to any 8.25 with drums
-
what is redefineds up high mean? and they are euro tails, they were on it when i bought it, but i kinda grown to like them
-
it still drives really smooth for being a short arm still. it tracks straight with no death wobble or shimmy at all. i don't even have the steering stabilizer on it. the only thing i noticed was a clinking noise from the upper control arms when turning. kinda weird but whatever. and now i need an alignment because my steering wheel is sideways

ok hers the pics. drop pitman arm and the rustys hd trackbar bracket. bar pin eliminator yello shock boot and the spring. here is a quick pic of the side. its level now and no tire rub.
-
that is really sweet. what do you use it for just music?
-
stem eliminintors are your best bet, you can get probalby 2'', and the bar pin eliminators also raise your shock 1/2''

97 and up have 29 spline axles. its a great axle but its limited to 4.56 gears and a few lockers. but its just about as strong as a d44 for a fraction of the price
-
the 8.25 is easy to spot, its a almost oval diff cover with a rubber fill plug, but the axle is flat on the bottom. but try to get a 97+ one it has the 29 splines. or you can get a older one with 27 splines. whcih is stillstronger then a d35.

i just picked one of those up at harbor friehgt for 9 bucks. haven't used it yet. should work great for trimming fenders
-
harbor freight has a cutoff wheel for 7 bucks. just get a couple packs of wheels and your all set.
-
i have had all at my disposasl before. by far plasma is the best once you learn to work it. you can get good with a torch too, but its never as clean a cut. sawzall works great if the room is there, but a 3'' cutoff wheel is what i use the most. its small and easy to manuver. and i am only usually doing small stuff so its not worth it to fire up the torches or a plasma cutter.

i also got the rustys hd tracbar bracket installed. i am still not sure of it yet, but it seems strong enough. i also bought a grade 8 bolt for the bushing because it only comes with a grade5, adequate probably, but whatever. the pitamn arm is installed, that was a pain to get off. now for tomorrow i have to torque down all the control arm bolts, put the steering back together, and rough in the alignment. then i am gonna take it outside and test flex it out, and measure for new shocks. then install the shocks that were on it. then take it for a drive and hope all is well. i also got the rough country brakeslines i need to install, but i am unsure of how they go on, its a weird setup. maybe they are the wrong ones.

well i set it up fianlly (hopefully) to 17.75 lowers and 16.75 uppers. i have it on the groung now. looks really good. its almost level with the back now. befoe i installed the spring i used the jack to cycle the suspension to check for binding and it it is hanging up on anything. sure enough the uppers were hitting a little bit of the upper/lower/frame mount. so out came the cutoff wheel and i took care of that. my final caster with it on the ground is about 5-5.5 degrees which is a little less than stock, but it should be enough. now at full axle droop my front driveshaft bottoms out, but i don't think it will be a problem because the shocks should limit that somewhat, and i don't really think it will flex that far.

what is your caster setting with those lengths?
-
i readjusted my arms to 15.5 upper and 16.75 lower. this gave me a caster angle of +6 degrees which is good considering stock is 6.5. but the pinion is also angled up a little bit, which is better imo than it was. i did notice on the sight i learned the info from he ran 5.5 degrees caster, so i hope mine will ride alright i don't want to pull it all back apart. i hate working on cars.
-
if your swapping in a 8.25 then why waste the money on rustys leaf packs. just go SOA and you get the same amount of lift for less, because either way you go you still need spring perches welded on to the axle. i just bought tnt customs u bolt eliminators for my xj, they are 1/4 steel and use all grade 8 hardware. definatly the way to go imo. then nothin hangs below the axle.
-
never buy a harbor freight pitamn puller or spring compressor. they break the first time you use them. i had the coil compressed, and then the crappy style compressor were you tighten and loosen it is a nut with a pin smashed into it. the pin sheared off and it would have came apart on me if i hadn't noticed it. so i had to use the floor jack and wood blocks to jack up the axle and compress the spring enough to safely get the sring compressor off without hurting myself. so i went to autozone and rented there stuff and the pitman arm puller worked great. and the spring compressor is a heavy duty piece that will work great.

what were your final lengths? and how does it ride. does it have any angle on the pinion or is it flat.

so i just got my angle finder. i know how to use it, and the angle for stock caster is 87.5 degrees. but the angle finder i bought goes up to 90 then back down like ----------------90 0-----------------------------------0 so which side of the 90 should it be on? i think it should be to the right side of the picture(front of vehcile) but i am not sure. that would give it some angle toward the tcase so i think that is right.
-
^^ i just goolged it and found that exact same site. definatly need to figure this out now. so basically i need to make my differnetial cover read 87.5 degrees which will make my caster +6.5 degrees which is factory specs. now i just need an angle finder.back to harbor frieght i guess

how does it sound with the glass pack in it?
-
what is the caster angle of the front stock? and how do i measure it
