Don't you need a business license or a resale tax certificate to prove that you own a business to set up an account like that. I know at every place I have worked we required proof of a legal and existing automotive repair business before we would allow a wholesale account to be set up.

 Nice!!!! I was really hoping to see an MJ in there somewhere though ;)

It's strange, but I have gone to 6-7 different test sites and get widely varying results. I have gotten near the 22 like SW2 on this one and as low as 7.5 on others when testing at the same time of day only a few minutes apart... :dunno: . Guess there is no trust worthy way to know for sure with these free sites.

The "Might Joe" build... -Full Console 1/25/09-

Did that many years ago and it got me in big trouble  ;) -
Yea...I knew what you did...just had to laugh at it

I ran a speed test on mine just now... Not bad... Click on the pic and test yours if you want.

There is no adjustment on the valves for the AMC engine. Tighten the lifter nuts down on the studs to the specified torque. They seat on a shoulder and the hydraulic lifters essentially determine the "lash." If you decide to replace the push rods, be sure to verify that the new ones are the correct length. (In fact, if you use the old ones it might be wise to verify that THEY are the correct length.) :hmm: I didn't say that... :rotf:

Thanks... The cup holder is a bit useless as I imagined and as others have said. It works for basic things like can drinks or slim 20oz bottles, but that's about it. Not a big deal to me though as my preferred drink while driving is a can of Diet Pepsi ;) -
I never though of someone thinking that...I'll go change the title a little right now. Sorry... ;)

Since I never worked at an "Authorized Sprinter" dealer, I don't know the exact steps, but there is a certain pattern that has to be followed to ensure that the engine is not damaged at start-up after changing the oil. Only "certified" Sprinter techs or "Sprinter Certified" lube techs are even allowed to change the oil :shake: .

That's a nice truck, but there is a very sad sight in the background... :(

Anyone else using it? I just upgraded to it about an hour ago from the standard Roadrunner and all I can say is ...WOW!!! This is fast... :clapping:  I downgraded my TV services to just a couple movie channels (don't need 8 of them :shake: ), upgraded my Roadrunner and upgraded to HD cable service. After all was said & done, I saved $5 a month

Yes, Diamler (Same company that ownes Frieghtliner and Mercedes) was the previous owner of Chrysler, Chrysler still uses a lot from them (parts and designs). Oh...sorry...guess I was SSuming that that was already known

It is quite possible that he was in 4WD when it broke and, realizing too late that he screwed up, put it back in 2WD after the damage to finish the drive. He then cooked up the story thinking that no one on a Mustang board is going to know any better anyway.

I agree with Wildman that he is feeding you a line of BS. I have not lived in NY, but I have lived in states where inspections where required and have never heard of such a thing... Visors are useless and should not even be in a vehicle IMO.

SAWEEEET!! :clapping: Now that is something I would hack my truck up to do

It's the same theory as any other vehicle that they do the same thing with. Dodge Caravan - Chrysler Town & Country ... Dodge Neon - Plymouth Neon ... etc, etc... One vehicle, different badges and some slight cosmetic changes ;) The Sprinter is seemingly a nice vehicle, but they are an INCREDIBLE nightmare to work on. You can't look up brake parts for them even with a VIN number...you have to actually have the customer come to the dealership and match them up. A dealership must be "Sprinter" certified to even change the oil in one as there is a special process to doing an oil change or you will damage the engine :shake: . I learned to hate them when I was at the dealership and thank God that we were not a Sprinter dealer so I learned to just send the phone calls away when I did get them.

He said... "the hubs must have been locked because it was in 2WD" :shake: ... At least there was someone on there smart enough to respond and tell him that he doesn't have locking hubs. There must be a locker of some type in the front to make it spin. He was probably in 2WD as he was able to strap the shaft up like that & drive it. If it was in 4WD...he couldn't have done that.

Thanks Tom. It's little (great) ideas like that that can really help someone out of a jam
-
I would not say you "need" to replace them. If the rods are straight and the ends are still smooth and not beat up then they should be good. Same with the lifters...if they are in good shape and working properly...I see no need there either. Personally...I probably would replace them just because it's easy to do now and for peace of mind...but, that's just the way I am ;) .
-
If it's only leaking, you can probably fix that with a valve cover gasket, oil filter adapter o-rings, rear main seal, oil pan gasket, timing cover gasket and front crank seal. Definitely no need for a complete rebuild at only 130K unless, as Pete said, there is something known to be wrong internally. May be throw a fresh set of rod & main bearing in there while it's apart.

A friend of mine owns a site that may have some helpful info on it. He is the same guy that owns the Florida Jeepers site that I admin on. It's called Jeep 2 Diesel
-
Now ya tell me... :ack: ;) I need to look at that site a little more often, but I just don't seem to think of them when I need things like that.

Rich...mine were recently acting up similar to that and got to where they only worked if set on the low speed...and then they were so slow that they were useless. I got a reman motor at Autozone for $75 and now everything is good
