And the frame brackets have no torque value?
-
I'm reinstalling the frame side motor mounts and can't seem to find a torque value. Or is it the metric torque of 'gudentight'? Haynes manual has nothing, factory fsm has these values under 6cyl engine removal. I'm not sure which I should use or if what I'm looking for isn't there. Front Support Bracket-to-Block = 35 Front Support Cushion-to-Bracket = 33 Front Support Cushion-to-Crossmember = 37 Anybody know what it should be?

Put the underbed wiring harness and tail light harness back on the truck. Bent the underbed brakeline that follows the frame. Temporarily installed the M.C. and prop. valve. Put the cab rear wiring harness back into the truck only to find that almost every clip had snapped. Remembered to put in the rearward screw to the front flares. Replaced the wiper assembly bushings, then painted the wiper assembly frame. Hooray, it feels more truck-like!

Yep, code PY3 if I remember correctly. -

Not since it's been painted, there's other pics in the same gallery after painting where that came from. Just no 3/4 shots like what I think you're looking for. -

Prowler Yellow -
Reattached the bed, 3rd brakelight, ebrake bracket on the bed... hooray for progress.

I grafted an led brakelight into the cargo light. Not wired yet though. The modified housing is between the left two flares.

DANA30 Frontend Replacement

Don't forget that an '00 or '01 XJ axle will be low pinion instead of high. It will bolt in place fine, but the front driveshaft length will probably be a bit different. -
How's that go again? Parking Brake under dash.
cherokee replied to cherokee's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Very tempting but I don't know where I'd put it. :rotf: And there already are extra parts too. :D Anyways, both flat ends of the rods go to the left steering column bolt, the long rod goes to the upper right parking brake bolt, the short rod goes to the highest bolt hole on the door sill (I think). -
Anybody know the thread type to the parking brake assembly studs? How about the bolt sizes for the bracket under the bed? And don't forget to add your answer to the sticky if you're sure what they are.

I found one of my disassembly pics showing part of one rod attached to the upper right ebrake bolt. Probably why I labeled them that way. But, I think that's enough information to get them back in the right place, thanks. -
Starting to put my project truck together and found a couple of rods that I labeled 'Parking brake reinforcement rods'. So I'm guessing that they go from the bolts holding the brake assembly on to somewhere else. Where? Anybody willing to help me out here? Even if it's only 'long rod goes to the upper right bolt, short rod goes to upper left' that's more than I remember.

I went with an upper truss myself, but did keep the height fairly low for oil pan clearance. For as bad as that photo is, I don't think one truss would have totally prevented the damage.

And I thought mine looked bad... So is it time for a trussed replacement or bigger and better?

You mean something like this? http://www.comancheclub.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=6668&p=64602#p64602 It's possible, but time-consuming to set up. You need to grind out the vent window 'bridge'. I had a set of 'new' doors I compared bolt hole locations to, and had some spacers made to achieve the correct depth of the various attachments. You'll also need the 'newer' trim pieces as well as the front glass channel (which is cut out of the 'new' doors). I also haven't hung an interior on mine yet so there may be even more problems I haven't encountered yet. But, I have ran the windows up and down.

By any chance did either of you find out that the single towhook was specifically for a rolling start? I also love the fact that it still appears to have carpet. I would have thought they'd remove it for weight.

Front height without flares
cherokee replied to cherokee's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
 That will work great, thanks. -
I switched to a set of TJ coils in my MJ project but forgot to take a hub to fender measurement before. Anybody know the height from the center of the hub to the fender bottom(not the flare)? The truck was an 88 4wd originally.
