1. I'm glad you picked up on that outa sight rear main. I thought for a second he must of been running his truck with the oil pan off.
2. How much does that thing weigh?
3. Yeah your right it's probally a scam to get it across the border. First night you parked it at home the dealers would be by to take the wheels off and collect their stash.
4. If you hurry you can still get your bid in. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Willys-J ... 0232089626
5. Went for $80. Guy sells a couple parts and he can recover his investment then its free parts or sell some more. Someone's bound to give you $5 for the engine as a boat anchor.
6. Got it all in one shot and filed it away. Thanks :D
7. fiatslug that email address is deziped@charter.net
8. You said you changed your filter a few weeks back and then two weeks later it was filled with crap & muddy, but now after running your tank dry and then dumping in 5 gallons its clean and shiny. Sounds to me like your buying somebodys dirty gas somewhere. I'd change my choice of service stations or shine a light (don't use a match like an idot in this county did a couple weeks back) into any tank I was gonna put my siphon hose in. ;)
9. Fiatslug, if you don't mind I would appreciate a copy of that PDF also. I have got some wiring problems I need to trace & replace & schematics would be a great help. My email address in in my profile.
10. Spray one in, you'll never have to worry about losing it again. Or you could buy a bucket of the stuff and brush it on. :brows:
11. Go for it. Those old Willys are fun to tear apart rebuild/modify. Back in the late 60's I found one (49-50) that had been abandoned in a canyon. I drug it out stripped it down and rebuilt it with a Ford flathead V8. I and the kids all had fun in the mt's & mud with it. Had the power take off box in it with drive to front & rear for operating farm equip. It'll always ride like a truck unless you toss some updated running gear under it. My wife hated them old willys made me give up both the wagon and pickup. She was always telling people they could have them which caused a few problems now and then. My nephew who recently passed away had 2 or 3 of them sitting in his front yard. They were operational but he just used them for lawn decor. I guess I should drive up there and see if their still around. But that would be a waste of time, the wifes still here.

Lot o Sturgeon

that article & pic was posted in the Oregonian News Paper out of Portland OR so I'm inclined to believe it as they are only a couple miles from Oregon City where the fish was supposedly caught. But what the hey, its one big fish unless some skeptic can prove it's a doctored photo. Anythings possible these days.

Lot o Sturgeon

Fella caught this last week in Willamette River in Oregon City. Took 4 guys over 6 1/2 hours and 4 dz beers to reel it in. Weighed in at 1000#, had a 56" girth and 11' 1" long, estimated to be around 100 years old. It probally pumps out 55 gal drums of caviar at a shot. Oh, they let it go back. Image Not Found[/img]
14. Wow what a diff. Replaced OE headlights with ecode AutoPals & 100/90W bulbs. As good as Hella lights I have had in past. Ran 10ga wires, a couple new relays & misc connectors & fuses & done in 2 hours. Now have 14v at lights direct off alternator. Now if I don't flash one of them vehicles with a siren-------------
15. The catch bottle is not a "solution" to their problem. It's just a collection station for recovery of oil errantly diverted beyond it's intended parameters of containment. Granted it does make the oil recycleble and extend the life of the airfilter under bnlow-by situations. However, the actions they have taken to date with negative results is indicative that a money pit problem potentialy exists here which will necessitate the expenditure of more green from the pit to properly resolve (rebuild the sucker) their dilemma.
16. How many psi does it take to siphon the material out of the bin.? I like your ingenuity & industriousness on the projest. I just bought a dual cyl 160 psi 80 gal comp so no excuse for not getting my blaster box built now.
17. Thats why I live in Oregon. Vinyl won't get cold enuf to crack yours nuts in Winter, or hot enuf to make calf fries outa dem in Summer :brows:
18. Who sells the mean green. Haven't seen it on the shelf in my berg. I always end up using a bucket of gas & a stiff brush. It's messy as hell. Use a lot of break cleaner on stuff, but, it has some bad side effects on stuff you don't want to destroy. Reminds me of the time I used it on the internals of the shops vaccum cleaner. Sprayed it & took a break. When I came back it was a twisted mangled unrecognizeable piece of -----. Boss wasn't to happy. I've never had a grilled cheese melt like that thing did.
19. I checked all the local guys around my town who do upholstrey work out of their garage. Finally found one who would stitch up a vinyl cover for $150. Color matched up perfectly. This is what I got. And it's better than out of a pro shop. Image Not Found[/img]
20. I fished in Toketee a couple times 8-10 years back. Just never bother to turn in there anymore. Hiked in to Lemolo falls once, that was enough.
21. 1. I was amazed when I seen that photo. How the truck turned black I'll never Know. The Sun was behind me. Freaky photo thing. 2. Steelhead was about 14=15#, a little critter. Most out of the Umpqua are much bigger than that & can go up to 30#. Hell I drove 40 miles to catch that & the neighbor girl (5th grade) goes up above my house yesterday 1/2 mile to the lake and wins the kids derby by catching two huge rainbows on a bobber & worms. They were both over 20 inches.
22. Went up river (Umpqua) today. Caught a steeelhead here Image Not Found[/img] To cold so decided to go up the hill. At 1500 a little snow Image Not Found AT 4000 the store is buried & the lake is frozenover. Image Not Found Of course the snowmobiles were out in force, these stopped for lunch [/img] Image Not Found This looked good so I tried it. Didn't get far. No lift & meat on this MJ. See Avatar Image Not Found[/img] So I went to lunch. Chunk of ice on window blocks view of frozen lake. Image Not Found[/img] It was a beautiful day on top of mountain, nothing but sunshine. If I wasn't so old I'd do this more often. Oh that's Diamond Lake 80 miles East of Roseburg OR in the Cascade mountains for those not familiar with Southern Oregon. OK, OK, so now I'll shut up.
23. If your battery is good with engine and all accessories off it should read 12 volts between + & - posts. With engine running you should have about 14 to 14.5 volt reading between battery posts. Check it with a voltmeter.
24. Appreciate your response. Thats a good link if your looking to clean/realign your NSS, which I'am not. I'm wondering about repairing a bad connection or broken wire inside the rear half of the NSS which is not visible to the human eye. After looking at the switch again it appears to be a throw away if internal problems should occur.
25. Has anyone tried to repair the wire connections inside the back of a NSS? I have a broken wire/connection some where between the contacts & where the wires come out of the grommet. It looks to me like this would be nearly impossible with the hard casing material covering the back side. What yuh think, time to take a trip to JY for a replacement.? If I pick up another one I'm going to take a screwdriver & hammer to the old one & see if I can get in there, but me thinks its probally like a block of cement. Better yet I think I will put the butane to it & see if any of it will melt down for a look inside. It's probally a circuit board lurking under there. +
