  2. ... if you're trying to sell your car and it's filled with MJ parts all of a half an hour before a potential buyer looks at it.
  3. Agreed. State to state may have different laws on how many lights you can have on a vehicle. Also, you should check on laws saying anything about how many lights can be above and below the hood. In MN, you can have no more than four forward lights on. However, you can have as many lights as you want above the windshield as long as they aren't on when you're on any pubic roads. Just this last week, I was with a friend in this Mustang and we were pulled over for the amount of lights on the front. Cop didn't say anything about the exhaust too loud, no plate on the front, windows too dark, or the fact that he was driving too fast. Local cops love to pull drivers over for anything as long as it isn't obvious. That said, I've ran into issues with breaking lights whether they were on the front or on the roof so I wouldn't run anything that costs too much. The lights on my truck are all single packaged tractor lights from Fleet Farm. All metal housing, crazy bright, crazier bright when bunched together, and at $11 each they are easily replaced if you break just one.

  5. Every few months or so, it comes time to dig this up again. This month's update? Bath day!
  6. Sure!... next time I'm in the neighborhood. :D
  7. As of now, our closing is set for September 2nd. Figure we should probably find a new house next, right? Did that! We shot the sellers an offer just to be returned with the information that they had already taken an offer... about a month ago. Oh... what a drag... dude... There still was a chance, though! The house was on the market for a while now and it was apparent that the sellers just wanted out so they accepted a mega low-ball offer putting the house on a short sale list. Now things were complicated as the offer was given to the bank and it was up to them to take or reject the low offer. In we come, guns blazing and a hail of furry, willing to drop full asking price if it meant getting it off the short sale list and us moving in. Granted, the house was already a great deal for what it is, so full price wasn't an issue. Wait a couple days... wait a couple more days... got the call yesterday while out racing (legally) with my brother. Got the house!
  8. Very cool dude fo' sho'! Definitely a tip of the cap to you, your fleet, and your ability to keep this crazy place running and moving forward. From jumping in to keep the peace, to allowing a strange out of state member sleep on his futon... I bet this guy would do just about anything for any CC member. Side story: A couple years ago I went out and bought "High Performance Jeep Cherokee XJ Builder's Guide". I was flipping through it very eager like as with any other Jeep book, and I saw Pete's truck. I was all, "OH MY GOD! I KNOW THAT TRUCK FROM THAT CRAZY SITE THAT I'M ON!!!". Little did I know that I would one day see the truck in person... let alone drive it around the block! If life is all about the experiences, then this guy has opened the door for so many here. Thanks Pete and congratulations on being this month's MJOTM!
  9. Thanks. Not so much what I was looking for, however. What I have is a factory brush guard that someone senselessly hacked off before the tubing turns under the bumper. Tame yourselves, odd-original-parts-purists and shade your eyes to hide the hurt that has already happened: If ever a good time to sound the "you lost" horn on the Price is Right, I think the time is now. And I know what you're thinking: "Hey that grill is upside down!". But look past that! The brush guard didn't even stand a chance! Now what I want to do is repair this wickedness. The reason I'm looking for pictures of factory pieces is to get some kind of idea as to what was supposed to be happening here and fix this horrendous fiasco.
  10. Pictures would still be great. I seem to remember them bolting on along with the tow hook brackets. :dunno:
  11. Factory LWB roll bars are made of approximately 3" tubing. I'm not exactly sure how think of tubing, but it's not much. Keep in mind that my truck is a short box: Off of the dimensions are approximate. If you were to make one of you own, then you’d probably want to use your truck as somewhat of a jig to make sure that everything lines up.
  12. I agree. I got them as a "set" of two satin finishes and two sparkle finishes... bugged the h' out of me.
  13. Sorry about that. You can see the mega spacer in this one too:
  14. Ha! Rob :peek: :fs2: Again and again! :fs2: I ended up just using the stock Ford caps, and just painted them black. Yeah... you could still see the oval in the plastic, but... eh...
  15. We don't even know yet... Rob I know... but even in November would help me out immensely.
  16. Been there... done that. Yeah, they look great, but the down fall is the amount of backspacing that they have. I ran a 2" spacer behind mine to keep them out off of the frame. Another issue is the hub size that Ford uses as it's smaller than ours. Many members here will tell you not to use a spacer that isn't hub-centric, but in this case it's somewhat of gray area as you won't find a set that will work unless it's a custom set... and you better personally know the guy working the mill! That being said, I ran a set that were only hub-centric to the Jeep hub and not the Ford wheel without any issues. Granted, I was overly obsessive about checking the torque on the inner lug nuts. With all that, they can work and I think they look great. Edit... beat me to it.
  17. Each month features all of the previous year's MJOTM on their corresponding month. Sales will continue again sometime after the December MJOTM is announced... maybe I can even convince the mods to fill me in on who the final MJOTM will be for the year so I can finish the calendar in a bit more of a timely fashion.
  18. If that's how you want your truck to be portrayed, then that's how it'll be. I've started working on next year's calendar already and how I do that it by lurking through build pages and stalking each month's MJOTM... yeah... I get a bit creepy at times... what about it?! I was going to ask for pictures from each month's member, but I think it's a bit more fun when nobody has a clue what to expect. When we get a bit closer, I'll start throwing out some teaser pictures. Edit: Hey!... Look at that! Post number 500!

  20. By no means is this all of the pictures I took. You get the idea, though. I think it was Jay's (somnus) camera that had the majority of the working pictures. Hopefully he can chine in too. I got a few pictures of some work on the floor of the '90. Chrysler Museum: ... and then my camera died the first time. After that, we went back to Pete’s for a little more work: Day later and Rob, Angela, and I decided to skip over to The Henry Ford: Might as well head over to Greenfield while we were there: Webster’s Dictionary? Webster’s house! To finish up, we were there all the way to the end of the day and Angela was asked if she wanted to sound the “quitin’ time” whistle: And then some other stuff: Say it again, amazing weekend!
  21. I was struggling with batteries all weekend in my camera, but I'll get something thrown together on here. ... speaking of updating things... Project: How I feel MJs *should* have come from the factory Project: Getting the paint on before the paint goes bad... ... Pete?
  22. A bit of a side note, but another amazing out of state tourist day! Started with the Henry Ford museum and followed up with the Greenfield Village. Fun and amazement for all! ...except for about a quarter of the pictures I took were of Rob ducking or walking out of the way of the camera. Eh... you can't buy memories like this, right?
  23. You too, buddy! I agree... nice to put a face to a name instead of just another username. Not to mention see another awesome MJ first hand. Very nice! Museum was kinda cool today too... nice scenic drive too:
