  1. JeepSticker has just the "ELIMINATOR" decal. JeepSticker Otherwise, years ago there was this dude on Ebay that made the full set. He does't list them, but when I bought mine he told me that he has a rotation that he lists but could make any of his past products whenever. Dude on Ebay
  2. ... half of something very important happened today... what was it? :hmm:
  3. Finally finished the power options swap. Thanks to mfpdm, the Eliminator got a fancy set of door panels today. They are a "re-flowered" version what what was there... no window crank hole. I had to move over my map pockets, but otherwise everything went well. Thanks again, Paul! Had the trucks out for some pictures today also.
  4. I've got a family again!!! Just like kids... we all have our favorites.
  5. Thanks dude! I changed out the harmonic balancer this morning. Anytime the truck was running, there was a constant "ting, ting, ting, ting...". The old balancer was bad enough that the rubber was hitting the fan. YOWZA!
  6. For what they need to be, just fab your own out of some 3/16" or thicker material. Mine: Granted, I don't need mine trussed... but I know that it's there if I ever go with bigger shoes.
  7. Wife won't let me have a turn driving it yet!
  8. Three cheers for red Eliminators! Very sharp rig you have there. Please take good care of it... but do enjoy it as much as you can too! Awesome truck. Welcome to CC!
  9. Wait... government information and they have three 1993 MJs listed? :hmm:
  10. First off, it's a MN truck. Second, it's a winter driver of a MN truck. Third, I hate keeping around stuff that doesn't work. So, since the A.C. will probably never be used, the system leaks, and there wasn't any pressure anyhow I just got rid of everything. Makes getting to the oil filter that much easier too. :wrench:
  11. Final step to getting this rig to daily driver status was to get the fuel sending unit to quit leaking. So, after taking the unit out and taking a good look at it, I still couldn't determine where it was leaking from... maybe the rust?... wiring grommet? Who knows. Well, I took the whole thing apart and I found that the grommet had a huge crack in it and that one of the metal lines was cracked… or so I thought. I looked around through my parts because I knew that I had another sending unit. It was out of a Renix, but I figured I could make one good H.O. unit out of the two. However, this had a similar rusty look. Anyhow, I took them both apart so I could decide which to save and which to use for parts. Anyone know the difference between an H.O. and a Renix unit? It’s all in the gauge sender mount. Renix: H.O.: To see what I really had to work with, I glass blasted the outside of each one to get a better idea of what to do. I capped everything first. After the blasting, neither one really looked that bad. So, after a good inspection, I decided to save both. A quick run around with a torch and some silver solder, and these things were looking good. First was to remove the old and busted solder, then was to replace with fresh and new. After that, a quick coat of paint and they were ready to go back together. Add a new o-ring to the cracked wire grommet and it’s ready to go back under the truck. First crank of the key? Vroom! No leaks at all. I also took some pictures of what I did under the hood also to get rid of the air conditioning parts. To plug the a.c. lines at the compressor… yes that is a boat plug… temporary. At the other end, I just used some silicon to close up the lines. Again, if I ever have a reason to dig into the dash, I’ll get rid of the rest of the a.c. parts. New radiator up front and I put some better corner lenses on. Better side mirrors went on as well. I’ve got plenty of stickers to get rid of off of the windows, but this thing is good to go… at least good to go enough for now.
  12. Awesome and thank you. Corolla, Sentra, or another VW is what I've been kicking around in my head. The problem comes in when I ask what she thinks about what type of car and her answer is always, "Whatever doesn't look too old". Hu?! Too old?! So my response question typically is, "Was my '98 Jetta an old car?". "Well, yeah. It's all boxy and old looking and the dash has all kinda of square lines". I can't imagine what she's been thinking of driving my Eliminator all week! Back to her car, no new information on her car yet though. The inspection was supposed to happen today but the inspector lady has strep throat... that's fine, I guess... she'll be driving the '91 after tonight but the idea of getting that was so I didn't have to drive my Eliminator when the snow comes. Going to have to figure something out sooner than later anyhow. Any other suggestions? :dunno:
  13. Tomorrow, I hopefully get to find out if my 2000 VW Jetta is totaled or not. In a sense, I'm hoping that it is because it hasn't been the best of vehicles and I just want it all to be over. On the other hand, after a new ignition module, it was running great and the body was still in good shape. Let's take a step back... while going up to get my new winter driver of a '91 MJ, the wife and I hit a deer whle clipping along at 65 mph. Overall, the car doesn't look that bad, but it's what on the inside that counts. I like how the insurance adjuster put it: "The problem with VW and Audi is that half of these cars are made of plastic and the other half is pop cans". Even though the outside looks repairable with replacement parts, it's all the little plastic pieces on the inside that are all cracked and screwed up. Besides that, if I were it fix it, the parts along would be over $800 using salvage yard parts. So, with the possibility in my head that the car may be totaled, are there any small to midsize cars that anyone would recommend as a replacement? Since the car would be for my wife, and since we'd like to have a car that gets decent mileage, it still needs to be a car. I’d love to put her in a Cherokee, but she’s a little lady coming in at under 5’ tall. Again, the car would be mostly for her getting’ around car and we’d use it for whenever we’d need to go road trippin’. We’re looking for a 4 cylinder backed by an automatic trans. She likes the size of the Jetta but would be willing to go smaller while I like the size of the Jetta and would feel cramped in anything smaller. Any suggestions?
  14. Again, a good day of progress. The radiator went well as did the thermostat. With getting everything out of the way, I found that the harmonic balancer has about half of its rubber packing falling out! Got one on order that I should be getting on Tuesday. I figure it's a good excuse to pull the bumper and change out the pushed in bumper cap too. While I was under the hood and cleaning things up, and since the a.c. doesn't work, I put a gauge on the compressor and found that it had zero pressure so I took out all of the lines. I'll be on the lookout for an a.c. delete pulley. I don't think I'll go as far as removing any of the internal a.c. components unless I have a reason to pull the dash in the future. Tomorrow I'll take a closer look at the fuel sending unit. When I bough the truck from xjrev10, he said that it drips just a little bit over time... he was right and the leak bugs me. We'll see what up with that. I should really get some decent pictures of this thing too... really, who reads all this stuff and who just skims over it and looks at the pictures? :D
  15. Got all of the brakes working today. Started with changing the master cylinder but also ended up having to get rid of the proportioning valve. Both rear bleeders had to be replaced and one had to be drilled and tapped. Everything works great! Tomorrow will be the radiator, belt, and thermostat. I stopped at the local salvage yard also and I've got a good set of mirrors also. Got some good stuff happenin' here!... some good stuff.

  17. The thrill of purchasing another truck is bliss, isn't it?... That first drive around a strange neighborhood while trying to think of as many questions as you can. Or driving it home all excited to introduce your new to you vehicle to your current vehicles with hopes that they'll be able to get along. Let's not forget that strange squeaking sound coming from somewhere in the upper left side of the dash... WHAT THE HELL IS THAT ANYWAY?! I PUSH HERE AND THERE AND EVERYWHERE IT SOUNDS LIKE IT COULD BE COMING FROM!... Sometimes it goes away for a while and sometimes it doesn't matter where you push. Regardless, you put your hand up and over the headrest on the passenger side, set the cruise, and just let it roll. This little guy came from the stables of xjrev10. Went for a nice drive this morning to take a look at the truck and he was awesome enough to meet me almost half way with only a small hiccup along the way: Yup… hit a deer. The wife limped the car back home with a ratchet strap keeping the front end together and keeping all its innards as innards while I drove the truck. Plans for the truck is to just leave it alone for now. It's an awesome runner but it needs a master cylinder and a radiator right away. It’ll make for a nice winter driver and year round garden and crap hauler. Once I rebuild a shop for myself, I’ll try and take the time to put floors and rockers in it. I’ve got a lead on a nicer bed for it that probably won’t go anywhere… if it sells it sells but I would assume it’ll be sitting where it is for a while yet. On to the next!
  18. Sure! 1. Window regulators 2. Lock regulators (grab the little arms that go from the regulator to the lock itself too) 3. Wiring to the regulators (I didn't really worry about what year I pulled the parts from, but the plugs are different the newer that you go. I pulled the parts form a '95 XJ and spliced the wiring.) 4. Cross-body wiring harness if it's easy to get to... otherwise it's pretty easy to make one up 5. Door switches 6. Under-dash to door switch wiring harnesses 7. Door panels without the hole for the window crank As far as the wiring goes, since I made up my own cross-body harness, I used the factory electrical manual found HERE.
  19. The door switches and the door harnesses came from a truck for next to nothing. The cross-body harness was made up for next to nothing. Window and lock regulators were about $60 from a local yard. Add a few hours of instal and call it a day.
  20. Joe's truck is the inspiration that started me on wanting a clean long box for street use. Those long lines lowered onto the ground just enough to set it apart fits the bill for a future truck. Thanks, Joe.
