    MJ Archeology

I thought about digging up a build but I think this could be a bit more fun: Ever wonder what happened to those cool builds that just seemed to fall off the map? I would invite everyone to start at the last page of the "Your MJ Projects" section and start going through them. Let's see what was happening around here five years ago... maybe even find something to inspire your truck. You might even find some trucks that are still hanging around here... only with a few less dents. I want to start with this one. The truck has a really neat look to it when he started. It was started by a dude on here that went by ChiefJosh. I don't know where he went, but he hasn't been on here since Feb 10, 2009. viewtopic.php?f=7&t=3284 Anyone care to take a step into the way-back machine?
  2. 3:00 today! Got the oven warming already...
  3. :( Very sorry to see this. Any plans?
  4. Perfect. I'm between classes at the end of July.
  5. I'm game for whatever. Talked it over with the wifey and she'd love the idea of getting around and seeing more than she can see by going out to my shop. We just need a date.
  6. I really doubt that this one is a real deal. With the way that the frame looks, I can't inagine there would be anyone on an assembly line giving the nod of approval on that one. The bed is very much not fiberglass on it either. The whole thing looks really janky and put together.
  7. Open House! Sunday, April 17th: 3:00pm - 4:30pm Be there... punch and pie.
  8. thats what i figured!! little steep price for that eh? Extremely high!!!
  9. I stopped and saw that thing on Hwy. 10! It's some kind of crazy collection of Jeep and Chevy parts: CJ-7ish front on a CJ-10 cab with flare-side Chevy box sides and a flat floor. It all sits on a really sketchy looking stretched frame. Someone just spliced in a chunk of frame on each side.
  10. Sorry, dude... all out until next year's round.
  11. ^Those mount on with the factory tow hooks. The brush guard gets sandwiched between the the hook itself and the bracket. Kinda janky if you ask me and not overly strong.
  12. ALL DONE!!! Thanks again and again to everyone who was involved. I'll be in contact with all members who were chosen for this year soon enough. Anyone up for another year?
  13. I dunno... looks just as good on your truck as it would on Rob's! :D
  14. ^Further West from where I am now... Alexandria, MN. Right now, I drive 70+ miles one way to my job and I just can't do that anymore. Double :(
  15. ... because I know this great place that's for sale! Three bedrooms... nice yard... great big shop that's all ready to go... boy, this place has it all! http://www.movoto.com/mn/21-6th-ave-n-s ... 031558.htm I'm not crazy about moving, but it makes sense right now. :(

    sorry guy's....

  17. Another stellar selection for this month! Great job on the truck and congratulations!
  18. Very sharp truck with some neat features! I like the look of the sliders you made. Did you just weld pads onto the frame and weld the tubing onto the pads of are they removable?
  19. Going... going...
  20. viewtopic.php?f=7&t=28321&start=0 Second page... I wouldn't have the guts to do it to such a nice truck though.
  21. ^ He said he wasn't for sure if it was factory: I did ask for additional pictures just to see if it is a factory unit... and to reconsider. I'll throw you a PM with more info.
