  1. :rock on: Another beauty cruisin' the mean streets of MN!
  2. It's cool... we don't have the same shade of red anyhow. Still, it's close enough to where I can imagine what my truck would look like come the day it might grow up a little more. A few more dents than mine though. :D Truck looks good, Wade!
  3. Needs a silver stripe between the new black belt line and the red.

    Just My Luck

Agreed. It's hardly ever a good time.
  5. I think they're fun... like an Easter egg hunt everyday!
  6. I'd like to add fabricator/welder for Alexandria Aircraft, Bellanca along with plenty of on the side metal work.
  7. Neato! Another MN member!
  8. Here... I did a quick photoshop for you: :D
  9. There has been talk about using full size leaf springs in a SOA setup to go a little taller without going too high: http://comancheclub.com/topic/23624-grand-wagoneer-rear-spring-soa-swap-done-more-pics-added/ Going the same route with the springs but leaving them SUA would lower it. Otherwise, I've thought about using the MJ main leaf and replacing the rest with leafs from an XJ being how flat they are. Something else I've wondered about would be to get rid of everything but the main leaf and go with some spring-over shocks. As far as the Explorer leafs, I think they're 2300-2600lb springs depending on the vehicle options. Not totally sure though. If they'd be free, it would hurt to cut them up and see.

  11. Just use wood blocks. They should curve to the springs just fine. Don't forget it's okay to heat up the front coils to lower that some too. :laughin:
  12. x2.
  13. ... but mostly I just want it. http://stcloud.craigslist.org/cto/3622155313.html
  14. You can also just reuse the Renix 90* adapter and just swap out the threaded end: http://emeraldgreen97.wordpress.com/ When I rebuilt my engine, I just turned the adapter from the upright to a horizontal position. No issues. I didn't change out the threads, but it's on my list to do yet.
  15. Thanks... I'm not really one to wear a hat so the Jeep oriented ones pretty much just stay in the trucks.
  16. I suppose you could, but think about where the jack is located at. I like the idea, god forbid it, that if I need to use the extinguisher it's within easy reach. Mine comes close, but the lid does open up all the way.
  17. Yup. I just used the cheapo plastic mount that comes with it. I like that it stays tight and doesn't rattle so I just left it alone. It's never fallen out of the mount nor has it ever randomly sprung open. I used this one: http://www.kidde.com/productcatalog/pages/datasheet-autofx.aspx
  18. That's exactly where mine is. From the driver's seat, it's right within arms reach but it's also out of the way where I'm not smacking my (or the passenger's) knees on it.
  19. I'm guilty of that as well. At the car dealership up the road from me, they've got a Subaru Baja proudly displayed front and center. Want that too.
  20. ^ I remember seeing the pictures and I'm pretty sure I found the old thread. The links for the pictures are bad though. :redX:
  21. The site you might be looking for is this one: http://comancheclub.com/topic/4559-wrenches-gone-wild/ This truck started life as a 2.5 and was swapped over to a 4.0 using a 4.0 donor XJ. He used a Renix era XJ, but the idea would still be the same that you'd need to remove all of your original wiring and move each piece of the harness over from your donor. Now, it isn't totally necessary to swap everything over to make a 4.0 HO run in a Renix setup... but you won't have all of the benefits of the HO system. If I were to do it, I'd park both vehicles next to each other, remove everything from the original vehicle, and just move one piece at a time. It everything is set in place and hooked up the way it was in the donor, you should be fine.
  22. Over there in Princeton?... yup. We've talked a few times in the past. Last time was about a year ago when I picked up a set of coils off him. We've passed messages back a forth on MN-Jeep a bunch too. Neat little truck he's got. I would assume you know him too?
  23. Yup... we went there:
